If he's so good and we're ready to pay 13 million for this guy, why the hell didn't he make into Uruguay's team? Looking at their squad, you would think that a 27 year old player who Juventus are ready to pay that much for should be included in Uruguay's squad.

Uruguay just don't have the luxury to turn down players like that. And as far as I know(which is a little) Martinez haven't been having problems with the Uruguay's coach?

He has no problems with the coach your right however just because he's not playing for Uruguay does not mean he's a bad player dude. He will come along with Krasic so I see no problem he is better than Pepe so we could stick Martinez left,Krasic right :boh:

Giovinco isn't in the Italy team either.

:D
They should give Giovinco a chance with Juve first, lets start there :)

I don't know man, Pepe is enough. We should be having bigger ambitions than that. Its like, these past few years we've always tried to see the positive side of these mediocre signings but it never got us anywhere.

Martinez can be good...But you can right, 13 M € too much for Martinez...I Think Martinez Price Max must be 10 M € not anymore :disagree:

Di Marzio said we will buy him instead of Krasic, as Marotta is pissed with CSKA.

If true indeed, we will regret this transfer. Players of the "calibre" of Pepe and Martinez may be good enough to start for mid-table clubs, but should be nothing more than subs for a club like Juventus.

Martinez is not mediocre though so I don't really understand what you mean?

We have a verbal agreement and only signatures are missing. Lazio may have a chance in the next 2 days to outbid us.

Martinez deal almost done
Thursday 17 June, 2010
Juventus have almost concluded a deal with Catania for Uruguayan winger Jorge Martinez, but both parties are still haggling over a fee.

The Bianconeri have made it their No 1 priority this summer to stock up on players capable of providing a threat on the flanks.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta met Catania's directors yesterday evening.

Catania soon laid out their demands, asking for a straight €15m cash payment at which point Marotta asked for 48 hours to think about it.

Ideally, Juventus would like to agree a transfer worth between €12.5m and €13m, which would be paid in installments, much like the deal for Simone Pepe earlier this month.

A move for Martinez would almost certainly signal the end of talks for CSKA Moscow's Milos Krasic who Juventus feel is being priced out of their budget.
