I really hope not, but some ppl see him as one of the 3-4 who could be sacrificed this summer :shifty: Reports say we offered him 5M/year so there should be a good chance he stays, but knowing :beppe: and his plusvalenza...

Inter fans absolutely love him and are mad that they can't afford keeping him. He was fantastic for them.

40m seems like much, but people also complained about paying 46m for Douglas Costa last year. Prices have changed, time to get used to it. One good season and you're worth >40m, that's the new reality.

Having a highly talented 24 year old fullback on a 5 year contract, who has proven himself in Serie A, is a much better proposition than signing Darmian, who's room to improve is limited.

I'm for it.

That is enough for me to want him here.

is he really? Darmian is more proven in Serie A if anything at least Darmian is more defensively sound. I'd sooner gamble on cuadrado at rb than spend 40 mill on cancelo who has a lot to work on

Considering that we only have De Sciglio and Sandro as FB's (with Licht and Asamoah gone), we could and possibly should sign Darmian and Cancelo. In order to have enough depth we need two FB signings.

Cancelo, Alex Sandro, Darmian and De Sciglio as FB's would be quite fantastic, both in terms of quality and quantity.

This guy has really nice feet but I really don't see how he is more of a defender than Cuadrado. Seems like a luxury signing to me.

But if it's 20M for Darmian or 40M for Cancelo then I choose Cancelo.

Juve are yet to close the deal for Cancelo and are negotiating with Valencia to sign him on a loan with mandatory redemption for less than €40m.

Juventus also have Darmian on their radar and are working with Manchester United to lower their request. Under certain economic conditions, it's not excluded for Juventus to sign both Cancelo & Darmian.

Cancelo looked very good for inter. I'd say he's worth the money, AS and Cancelo as FBs is pretty much top of Europe. One thing worries me though: he's not better defensively than Cuadrado so he's pretty much a luxury signing at this point. Wouldn't it be better to move Cuadrado to RB and spend the money elsewhere? Other than that I really like the idea of us buying him - we'll piss inter off massively :D

He needs to improve defensively though.

Cuads is one of our wingers though, you move him to RB permanently and you need someone to fill the numbers upfront. unless we're moving permanently to 433, but that's not happening since Beppe seems set on neglecting midfield once again

Tbh I think we're moving towards 4231. Cancelo and Chiesa/Martial? Sounds like 4231 to me.

Only way i could see this move happening is if we eventually part ways with AS, which tbf i doubt it's the case rn.

Then we have like three MF too many with:
Pjanic, Khedira, Can, Matuidi, Marchisio, Stururu, Bentancour.
I guess we could have 5 so we can switch to 3 man MF if needed but still there are too many of them.
Some ppl still talk about SMS, but in reality in Pjanic Khedira Can and Matuidi we have 4 potential starters for 2 or 3 MF spots (4231 or 433).
If we really get SMS then that is perfect MF for me - Pjanic, SMS, Can, Matuidi and Bentancour
If we wont get SMS then it stays as it is with probable departures of Stururu and Marchisio.

For the defence we have:
RB - MDS (can play LB)
CB - Benatia, Rugani, Chiellini, Caldara
LB - Sandro
Sandro is set to leave and we cant rely on MDS with all these injuries.
Cancelo as starting RB seems good to me, but we need real LB. Darmian cant fucking start as LB for us, he can be used in rotation, thats all.

For me attack can stay as it is, if Higuain is replaced with Morata we are weaker, but maybe more agile.
