Would like to see him here, always liked him as a player. He's not amazing or anything but he'd find him very useful for 4-3-3 and I'm pretty sure he'd provide many assists and goals. Him cutting in would work fine with Tevez and Llorente.

Not to mention he can easily cover AMC position. He played that under Ranieri for some time and had great matches. He's exactly what we need now.

Yes to Menez especially since he will be free.

I don't see us getting anyone better anyway since all the good wingers out there would cost too much.
This.
I saw him at PSG and the one factor I really didn't like was his selfishness. Even players around him always seemed pissed at him for the amount of selfishness he showed.
But since we've turned into a poor bargain-hunting club... well fvck it, let's bring him in.

Thing I like about Menez is he is like pepe but has a better end product. Not that it should be the main quality of a winger but it is always a plus. We should go for him. He is cheap, young, and I see us changing formations with him. Only thing is I havent seen him too much but hows his defending? I used to watch him in his roma days so i cant really remember and he has improved so

Pepe is nowhere near returning to first team football, we should go for this guy in January even if he can't play in CL.

My recollection of his time at Roma is that the majority of his good games came when playing trequartista - or even a little deeper than that. Very few good games on the wing.

He's a player I'm fairly indifferent to.

Would depend on the costs as to whether I'd see it as a decent move or not, along with what it meant was being done more generally with the shape of the Juve squad.

I remember seeing him on the wing quite often.

As for the cost I assume you mean wages, cause he'd come for free.

He has one problem and it's his brain.

That is quite the problem :D

As for the "excitement" I was referring to, it wasn't prevalent in a particular post, just a general vibe, and not necessarily pertaining to you. I know a few posters who actually like and rate Menez, but I'm definitely not one of them.

However, if he arrives on a free, we don't lose anyone important to acquire him, and his arrival doesn't hamper the acquisition of quality players while ensuring that Biabiany stays the fuck away, then I am all for it.

So do I, but I don't remember him playing well on the wing very often.

He has one problem and it's his brain.
That's a rather significant problem.

I think any excitement you see regarding Menez is the same as you'd get from Juve being linked with any vaguely decent winger.

Some people are so hell-bent on seeing 4-3-3 that they'll get excited at the prospect of the signing of virtually any player that makes 4-3-3 seem more likely.

Agree with basically all of this. From what I remember at Roma he played most matches I watched on the wing. Had some amazing games, but was selfish and inconsistent as hell. I've hardly seen him with PSG, but a friend told me that before he lost his starting spot he'd improved since his Roma days. At the prices being quoted I think he's probably a decent acquisition considering our squad's requirements, not one to really fuss over though.

In my opinion it would be a bit stupid not to go after him

He's not old
He's a very good Winger, puts up solid stats every year
He allows us to be flexible
He's free.

If the £2,000,000 in January rumour is true, i'd get him early. Yeah he's cup tied but this gives him 6 months and a pre-season to get used to our style of play before the new season.
