We've spent more on one 2nd choice keeper than we have on fullbacks since 2008 - despite the fact that we have been consistently dreadful at those positions during that entire period, and last year allowed more goals than relegated Atalanta.

Our team would sure be able to absorb more adversity, if we had a solid foundation to work with. This team need to spend BIG at the back, ASAP. Prioritize that shit.

Not true.

Some are, others aren't.

There you have it, you're living in the past.

Dude, even with the best defensive unit in world football, under Capello, we still struggled to do anything in Europe. Buffon, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Vieira, Emerson, et cetera. Clearly the best in the world at the time. We could grind out results in Serie A, sure. But times are a changing and Milan and Udinese are demonstrating good football can garner success in Serie A.

I agree that the defense is the main priority at this point, but to become a successful side again, in this day and age, we need a well-rounded team. More times than not, quality and skill win out. So that's why we should be looking at classy young players like Pastore while using the budget properly to improve the defense.
true, but how much do we suffer from our defence ?

but I too, would like to see get us a heir for del piero as creative SS, and pastore is nice in that book. but can we afford him ?

on a sidenote, i HATE when we lose to bad teams and our midfield ran around with a loser mentality. mascherano would solve so much

no it's not. The incompetence of Marotta got us those players. Don't be a fool.
Ugh, not this idiot comment again…

I really, REALLY would like to see what YOU would have done with 0 transferbudged and towering wages.
Marotta made the transferbudged by reducing wages greatly, and got us nice players like krasic, and a few nice loans like aqua and quag.
He got stabbed by Di Natale’s rejection on the last day in the summer, and the new 1non eu rule in the summer.

After that, our prima punta’s quag and amauri underperformed to such degree that anaysts called it “a comic act”, whilst we were piling up the injuries. When melo took that red card, we basically were strikerless and without defensive midfielders.

In the januari period, agnelli REJECTED marotta when he asked for money to fix the club a new striker and end with CL football.

Even tho rejected, he still managed Matri, who did more then amauri and iaq in the last 5 seasons combined. Not a champion, but a very good buy.

Yeah, the buys he did weren’t like the plan he described at the start, but desperate times require adaptation.

Marotta did a good job, Del Neri lost us far to much points in weak games+ cant attack/control a game+cant boost moral, Agnelli did what he is doing since calciopoli : nothing. And by blocking more funds for januari, we arguably lost championsleague.

A great player in januari would have given us the boost we needed

Are we even interested in Pastore? Or is just one of those 'Juventus is linked to everybody' kind of thing.

Even after missing out on the CL this summer we still had more resources and assets than most clubs but the current management could not assemble a staff and squad capable of making the CL in a weak Serie A, stringing three consecutive results, or winning a single game in the EL. That is failure.

The latter. Unless there are first changes at the top I wouldn't keep my hopes up for Pastore.

we should totally forget we were second placed before quag got injured and melo picked a three game ban, when we were without a single striker, and never really recovered from that.

Are you basically trying to repeat the quote in your sig? You do realize that Hustini was directing that at me right?

And I responded to it and you can go back and see that conversation so I don't have to repeat myself.

"Pastore to Roma? I will not sell him, but not just to Roma. I will not sell him to any club," Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss.

:lol2:
