What makes the difference if we splurge on a player like Pastore/Neymar then buy full backs? Why is it full backs have to come first? There doesn't have to be a specific order you know...just as long as we get them.
Players aren't just going to wait around all summer to get signed. We could have missed out on Krasic this summer waiting for Dzeko and did you forget Marrota's late summer spree when he signed quagliarella, Traore and Sorenson as pretty much panic buys. There is no way you can say the order does not matter at all.

If we spend all summer chasing unrealistic attacking players like Dzeko, Neymar or Pastore we'll end up with shit fullbacks again.

So you regret the 2 bolded panic buys? And how do you know Sorensen was a panic buy and not a well thought out scouted mission to look for talent?

There is no way you know that buying a great player or going after one means we will end up with shit full backs.

Look at our current fullbacks. We spent all summer neglecting those positions and look what happened.

Right...because our coach had nothing to do with losing and dropping points, maybe we should completely forget melo's red card incident that spiked a streak of bad performances...let's go ahead and just brush under the rug our entire teams dip in form, a piece of trash amauri that couldn't hit ground falling from an airplane...let's just blame our fullbacks.

Oops...forgot the injuries...let's turn a def ear to that as well.

So we should spend half our budget on one player? What about when he gets injured.
Good point...maybe we shouldn't buy any players...with the risk of injury looming, it doesn't make any sense to risk spending money on anyone because they might get injured.

Or, we could by 4 world class full backs so in case 2 get injured with have 2 more world class ones to take their place. At least we will have Pepe, Amauri, Iaquinta, and Luca Toni to ball us out when Matri get's injured...

I didn't say anything of the sort. I said we should be cautious about spending so much on one single player.

You usually get a WC player and a squad player as a replacement when he's tired or injured. Reality is you can't have 2 WC players per position, not even Real Madrid can keep that up.

No we shouldn't. Being cautious brought us Pepe, Gryera, and Motta. Being cautious brought us all these damn loans to buy bull shit. We need to be a little reckless and take a risk for a change. It isn't rocket science to know that Neymar, Sanchez, and Pastore will be successful and be great for whatever team they go to as the next step in their career.

We need to show some ambition for a change. No more being cautious. Warren Buffett would not be the billionaire he is today if he didn't take a risk at some point in his career. Same goes for this club, spend money to make money.
