'Pastore will never join Juve'
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini insists that Javier Pastore will never go to Juventus, despite entertaining the idea in an interview yesterday.
Zamparini had told Tuttosport that Pastore is similar to Alessandro Del Piero and would fit in well in Turin before naming his price in encouragement.
“Pastore will never go to Juve,” he said this morning. “Javier still has a five-year contract with us and he will certainly stay in pink and black next year.
“He costs a lot and Juve don't want to spend a lot for a player with his characteristics. I'll tell you one thing: he will never wear black and white.”
Zamparini then reiterated his decision to sell Palermo in protest at refereeing decisions made against his club.
“Yes, I am ever more convinced of wanting to say goodbye. There are three or four companies interested in buying the club.
“Right now, we'll have to wait and see,” he concluded.
