Poeple here should be more realistic, our summer budget won't exceed 50 millions at max,and we can add 20 millions approximately from the selling of Amauri,Iaquinta..etc to those 50,so we have 70 millions in our hand next summer.

All what we need is to invest those 70m in 3 or 4 good players in our weakest positions.

Mascherano is no doubt a good player, but we don't need him,so why to waste around 20m from our limited budget in a player that we really don't need him regardless of his quality????????

Why people still want us to make the same mistake of every year of spending too much in midfield and ignoring the defence????????

For those who are with the signing of Mascherano, suppose we bought Mascherano for 20m,what would be left for us is 50m (that if we could find someone to buy Iaqi,Amauri and others),do you think the amout left is sufficient to buy 2 good defenders and SS(who we must bring next season if we want to survive)????

Midfield in fact is our strongest line,we really do not need any reinforcments in Midfield,we must concentrate now on defence and Attack. If we spend our money on the likes of Mascherano and Aquliani then we will be forced again to bring average players in the other lines.Mascherano being good only is not a reason to bring him.Neuer and Lloris are good GKs,does that mean we should bring them?????

Sell Melo to Madrid sign this guy.
This is a clever move,to sell Melo for a price and bring Mascherano for a lesser price and i agree with you that Mascherano is no less than Melo,BUT Melo has already settled now in Juve,so it's unwise now to go for this risk.It would have been better if it had been done last summer, but now after Melo already settled I'm not with it.

Obviously we won't have all three of Mascherano, Aquilani and Melo. Since Aquilani isn't ours anyway and we'll have to buy him (the agreed transfer fee is 16m, but it could go down) then it becomes Masch or Aquilani.

No need for neither Mascherano nor Alberto,IMO all the money should be spent on Defence and Attack.Anyway we already have Marchisio so we won't loose anything if we don't sign Aquiliani.

Mascherano is a fucking destroyer, him and Melo in the middle would rape the shit out of any midfielder in the world.
P.S he's a captain material.

If you get a creative left winger, and a good creative striker, Melo and Masch would work in a 4-4-2. Let's say:

Krasic Melo Masch Sanchez

-----Quag/Gio Matri/ST
I dislike the CM. Drop Melo for someone who will travel forward instead of the two players who sit back.

The thought of him captaining Juventus is hilarious as well.

Is the name Mascherano an Italian one? If it is then we could offer him a starting spot and eventually a European passport :D You can't beat that..

There's nothing wrong with two midfielders who sit back when you have enough creativity from the flanks. A midfield of Melo and Mascherano cannot be dominated.

Mascherano would fit Serie A very, very well. Tactically smart, adept in the tackle, decent when passing the ball. Since the game is a slightly slower than La Liga he would be perfect in a holding role here. So we should definitely make a move for him as the Sissoko replacement... no brainer, really.

But then the problem arises that we might not be able to afford Aqui or some of the other signings. I guess we have to bargain with ourselves if we want quality on the side.

If we decide on him, then along with the new manager we'd have a more Capello-like midfield with Mascha and Melo sitting in the center, Krasic out right, and maybe Marchisio out left. Obviously not a fan of that stuff.

True, but it also becomes easier for the opposition to defend if there isn't anyone in the midfield with a good range of passing or who drives forward and becomes a threat to the opposition. I'm 100% behind getting Mascherano, but this team needs to start playing inventive football instead of becoming a static formation without several sources of inspiration.

You can drop one of the strikers and switch to 4-2-3-1 like this

------Melo March

Krasic AM Sanchez

if we buy sanchez then that formation would be good..2 fast wingers are needed definitely but its pretty unlikely we'll sign Masca or Sanchez..don't forget they aren't Italian
