i think it was the lowest attendance since we play on the stadium..it looked like 15k were there but that was because all the people avoided the curvas and sat in the middle.

The stadium is beautiful but something about it isn't right. Maybe just that it lacks history and tradition. To me, San Siro is still the best stadium in Italy. It has a dark, industrial feel about it that makes it really intimidating and provides great atmosphere.
so true

not much beats a night game at the san siro

either way given all that's happened I think the stadium came at the right time. new beginnings and stuff. old stadiums have it's novelty, but it's time italian football moved forward, and juve as usual will be pioneers
Its a bit shit that supposedly in order for a league to do well, it needs these 'modern' boring stadiums devoid of atmosphere. That's by no means what Juventus Arena is but it is leaning more towards that unfortunately and if that's the new trend that has to be followed then its a shame Italian football was forced into it. It would be a shame for it to lose its identity.

One of the best things about San Siro at night that Juventus Arena doesn't have is that darkness. You can't clearly see the crowd but in a sold out game you can hear them roaring non stop. I think the best model to follow is the Bundesliga. They have the right balance in how they've built their stadiums. EPL and La Liga can suck a dick.

But 99% of the stadiums in Germany are "modern" like EPL stadiums. The reason the atmosphere is great in Germany is because of safe standing terraces.

You're not allowed to stand up in English stadiums, and it ruins the atmosphere quite a bit. English fans want "safe standing" terraces and are trying to get petitions going to make it happen.

the darkness adds the intrigue defo. but in more basic terms such as distance to the pitch etc, I guess it's necessary to progress and generating revenues etc. I hope Italy sticks to the flares at least though.
