Those cables certainly stretch far away from the stadium.

Do to the extensive area covered by the cables, I can't help but fear for the safety of fowl native to the Turin region and whether or not local officials considered the impact on the local ecosystem in which these fowl flurish.

Fuck the rods.

Anyone who knows the role the rods and the cables play here?
It's tempting to think of cable bridges when you see this but considering this is not a common feature with other stadiums it makes me wonder if it's for structural support or something else.

Out of habit we might see the layers after the first few home goals of the season run as far up as the second tier in celebration

these FAQs is from the official site :

Sorry i used google translate because it's too long!!!! There are explainations about the rods

The construction of the new Juventus stadium is one of the objectives of the Company since the mid-90s. It is a path that has seen many changes during its completion. In particular, the current project has completely replaced the first case, which involved the so-called "stadium in the stadium."
The New Stadium, where the white fans come from the 2011/2012 season, it is therefore an original design that dates back to 2008.

In recent days I received numerous questions from our fans, curious to learn more details about the project. Below you will find the most common:

1) How many places will be available in the new stadium?
The capacity includes 41,000 seats

2) What will be the minimum distance from the golf game?
The distance between the first row of seats and the field will be 7.5 meters.

3) How many parking spaces will be available for fans?
There will be 4000 parking spaces dedicated to the fans.

4) How tall are the masts of the stadium flag?
They stand 86 meters

5) How important is the coverage of the stadium?
The main structure consists of four large beams arched backward maximum height of 7.5 meters, 125 meters long and 90 per side and total weight of 1300 tons.
The secondary structure, however, is composed of 60 beams of 40 meters, bridges and bracing for a total of 1100 tons. The total steel, therefore, is 3700 tons.

6) What material is composed of the outer covering of the stadium?
The outer casing of the stadium is composed of more than 7000 items in alucobond to form a "skin" that will attract the tricolor and the stars representing the championships won by the team.

7) The design solution, which includes the installation of the 8 rods to the four corners of the stadium were included in the project in the first place, or there has been a change during the construction to correct a design error?
This solution is provided since the beginning of this project, back then on 2008.

8) why do the rods do not appear in the first rendering?
"The rods do not appear in the first rendering because they were originally designed to represent a summary of the elements that make up the whole work, without details of the structural details." (???????????)

9) In both cases, Juventus were brought to the alternatives that had no visual obstructions to the audience? If so, why were discarded?
"Designers have always valued the solution of the rods is not impacting on the vision of the event race, which is why they never considered any alternatives."

10) Have you assessed the real impact of the rods on the quality of viewing for the spectators, both in terms of number of jobs involved and the level of obstruction of vision?
Juventus has assessed the impact of the rods and at least acceptable, in view of the low impact on the visibility of the public. Further, the present seats in the areas of the stands to "visibly annoyed" in some cases will not be included in subscription and others will be sold at a reduced price compared to adjacent areas and only at the ticket office official Juventus. The remaining seats to "visibly annoyed" will be sold, as in previous seasons at the Olympic Stadium, only a single race and only time spent in their respective places in the field maximum visibility. For these sectors, however, have already been planned promotions for ticket sales since angular.
The comparison with other sports facilities in other European countries showed that in some places there is low visibility, they are places where the visual field is partially obstructed by the columns, railings, or other structural elements of the stadium such as the Camp Nou in Barcelona and the Allianz Arena in Monaco from pole support networks placed behind doors and in front of the curve.

11) Have you adjust the price of tickets in these areas?
See previous answer.

12) You're possibly considering removing the bolts in the future, opting for an alternative solution?
It is a case study.

13) Have you assessed the symbolic impact of this design choice?
Juventus has assessed the opportunity to achieve the best possible system, assigning a team of international designers to the task of designing a stadium that could compete with the best sports facilities in Europe and globally and what is about to be born is a of this type. Juventus are the first and only company without the need for laws that facilitate, without public funding, without affecting the financial resources for the team, is to open a stadium that is at the forefront in Europe and one in Italy.

14) You have asked FIFA and UEFA to consider the approval for the most prestigious international competitions?
The new Juventus stadium will be approved according to the criteria of all the official bodies of football and will be able to host matches of UEFA and FIFA competitions.

15) Have you found that the presence of ties does not preclude the award of the Champions League or World Cup matches?
The new Juventus stadium will be approved and able to accommodate all stages of any competition except the Champions League but for different reasons. To host a Champions League final, in fact, the stages must have a capacity of at least 50,000 seats. This capacity was considered too large for the proper functioning of the structure that is proposed as an attractive even on days not devoted to the game. When submitting the dossier to the European Championships in 2016, the FIGC has been very satisfied with the Juventus stadium, and had tentatively assigned the possible semi-final.

16) By what rules you have made the structural analysis and verification?
According to Law 1086 and the last Ministerial Decree current

17) Have you made a three-dimensional structural model of the entire structure?
Yes

18) What computer code you used?
See previous answer.

19) To what combination of loads are necessary tie rods?
20) Do you have conducted tests on scale models in wind tunnel?
Steel cables at the four corners of the roof and anchored to the concrete elements separating the basin of the new stadium, which divided into four tiers of the stands, are a result of rigorous calculations made during the design process and tested in gallery wind. Particular attention and care on the part of designers are dedicated to the placement of anchor cables, which are provided in line with the separation of forum, whose access stairs at the turn of separating themselves contribute to remove the seats for their ensure visibility for all users.

21) If you were a design error because you have opted for less expensive when all costs of redesign and implementation of the variant was to be covered under Article 111 and 132.2 of Legislative Decree 163/06 by the designer?
As already explained, the decision to include the ties is not a design error
