In the rare occasions I watched Schalke in Bundesliga, he was starting.
I think he lost his place for a while and gained it back (dunno if it was due to someone elses injury or he re-gained it with good performances). Overall he was a starter on 12 of the 17 Bundesliga matches and 4 of the 6 CL matches.
I wish though that Marotta's trip to Germany will be for Dzeko. I like and follow Rakitic for 2-3 years now, but Dzeko is Dzeko and I'd sacrifice my countryman for the Bosnian.
And with only 6 assists he is Schalke's top assistman this season.
I say "only 6" because that's overall in all the competitions. He's their leading assistman in Bundesliga with only 3 assists, leading assistman in CL with 2 assists and he has 1 assist in the Pokal.
Looks like Schalke score most of their goals after individual actions and they don't pass to each other too much.
Everything for keeping Sissoko, right? You still hope he finds his form (if he ever had any) so you would rub it in? Hopefully he finds it elsewhere so you can enjoy it there.
You can do better than this, right? You know that problem is here not Sissoko leaving but player we are about the get as replacement. As far as i know he can play nowhere in 4-4-2.

He can easily play both as a CM (Aquilani's position) and a LW. Played in both positions most of his career for his clubs and Croatia. Just like Aquilani, Rakitic too can be used as an AMC and play in a 3 men midfield, as he does for Schalke lately.
