My friends and I have recently become addicted to a particular modification for Warcraft III called Dota Allstars. Subsequently we've been spending copious amounts of time and money at internet cafes playing this simple but addictive game.
Unfortunately this newfound addiction coincides with my final exams, which end on the 24th of June, and in celebration I'm planning to stage a small-scale LAN Party at my place.
For those of you who don't know, a LAN Party is the equivalent of a Star Trek convention to Trekkies, a Champions League final ticket for football fanatics, Mecca to the Jews.
It basically consists of any number of geeks between 2 and 1000 unplugging their computers, loading them into their cars and getting their parents to drive them to a location where like-minded nerds will plug into a network switch for hours (or days) of gaming, leeching, sweating, pizza-eating madness.
I've never been involved in one of these events myself, but my friends were discussing the concept, and even though I'm yet to sit my first exam, my loins are already quivering with anticipation.
What I'm getting at: I just wanted to get some suggestions from fellow gamers (rare souls who've attended a Lannage would be very helpful) on what games we should play, what ground rules should be in place, and how to generally make it a good time for everyone.
btw does anyone know how many players Need for Speed: Underground 2 supports over a LAN?
