JUVENTUS vs INTER 2-0

SCORERS: Ibrahimovic 2’ and 12’

Juventus and Inter kicked off the Birra Moretti tournament, in a game that showed Ibrahimovic in a splendid shape from the very start. And only 2 minutes later the Swede hit the target: Trezeguet controlled a corner kick in the area and aimed at goal but he hit the far post, while Zlatan, in a good position, could finally nod it in. After 10 minutes Juventus doubled their score, again with Ibrahimovic who played a free kick placing the ball into the corner on Toldo’s left. Inter tried to fight back, but Recoba first, then Karagounis and Figo found Chimenti ready to block their attempts.

The Bianconeri could increase their score with Ibrahimovic and Trezeguet but they were both stopped by linesman. In the second mini-half, the Nerazzurri insistently aimed at goal but Cruz’s and Cristiano Zanetti’s attempts went out. On 29’ minutes, it was Nedved who tried to score but Toldo was ready and cleared. Capello made way to Zalayeta who replaced Ibrahimovic, who was an absolute protagonist of the match. In the final minutes, it was Recoba again to go for the conclusion from outside the box but the ball slightly missed the left post. That was the last emotion of the match against Inter, won by the Bianconeri by 2-0.

NAPOLI vs JUVENTUS 1-1 (3-1)

SCORERS: Sosa 5’, Zalayeta 14’ (shoot-out: Zambrotta out, Gatti in, Mutu saved, Tapparella in)

Juventus met Napoli in the decisive match of the tournament, making many changes in the line-up compared to the mini-match against Inter. Capello introduced the trident attack with Mutu, Zalayeta, Del Piero and it was the very captain who, after a few seconds into the match, came close to scoring, however, after Emerson’s pass, he kicked the ball too far and could not get it into goal. It was Napoli who could first take the lead, after 5 minutes: Montervino drove on the right flank, when Pessotto went through his back. Napoli was thus awarded a spot kick: Sosa had to shoot it twice because during the first attempt players from both sides got into the area, and in both occasion the “Pampa” hit the target.

Juventus could have soon reached the draw but Mutu, assisted by Olivera into the area, was intercepted before being able to aim at goal. On 12’ minutes, Olivera worried Gianello from outside the box and, when the goal keeper shot back, Zebina kicked the ball high over the crossbar. Two minutes later it’s time for the draw: Mutu’s cross from the left was tapped in by Zalayeta. On 18’ minutes Mutu was protagonist again, with a ground left-footed shot that hit the post, while Emerson’s kicked the returning ball high over the crossbar. On 23’ minutes, Zalayeta found himself face to face with Gianello but he incredibly missed the goal. On 24’ minutes, Del Piero’s lob was not precise. On 32’ minutes, Zalayeta served Olivera who drove a right-footed shot that was a little wide the net. The two teams could not break the tie, so the tournament’s winners were decided by a shoot-out. The penalties ‘on the run’ awarded Napoli who took advantage of the decisive mistakes by Zambrotta and Mutu.

I just said it's more entertaining.not the best or the strongest league.
you're entirely right, those were rather moronic comments to be honest, I wouldn't bother getting too worked up though!

Roy Carroll has left Man United by the way, they've signed VDs now - whoever said that Man U had a shitty keeper can think twice

Ntl is the best!!!! my friend has NTL and bought this box (kinda like a freeview thing) that only works with NTL that allows you to get all the sport channels for nothing. Dunno if its illegal but ive watched plenty of matches on it.

VDs played good last season but I remember his performances with Juventus all to well to put him under keepers of my liking. I swear we would have won trophies if it weren't for him.

I despise EPL, I guess because of too much media bias it is recieving from ESPN and CNN. I can stand some bias but enough is enough, I still watch it though and it is entertaining, but my heart isn't in that league.

I like Van der sar.he is a good keeper IMO and did a really good job against Everton.
