BOTH their goals have come from defensive disorder. Whilst we own possession, as would be expected against a team which is setup to let their opponent soak up possession and hit on the break, we have seen nothing of our strikerforce...giovinco and matri are ghosts. A wonderful strike from Asamoah, yet serving as nothing other than a band aid over our same problem...a complete lack of penetration. Marchisio seems back to his absent self. Vidal doing very little. Our defence far too sloth...

all in all, a woeful performance so far...and only a fool who could focus on pointless possession stats could say otherwise.

As for a remedy for our woes???? We don't have many options...and the brilliant finishes by Canavi and Pandev bang home the message to Beppe Marotta more loudly: we need someone of their calibre in our final third.

Asamoah is NOT a LWB...better than de ceglie, but he is hardly a world beater...lichsteiner as a RWB is madness. As a RB he is often top drawer...play players where they are best, not where they barely cover what we lack, in terms of true first team material playing in their proper position.

I saw Asamoah as a MArchisio/Vidal sub, NOT as a position he has never excelled in before...

Conte's mind is elsewhere. understandably so...but this showing, so far, is a f'kin shambles, and it does not bode well at all, for the coming serie A season, let alone our re-entry into the champions league.

The wet surface is totally messing this game up, especially for the team that has most of the possession. Thats why Napoli can counter attack on us.

Despite being behind, Carrera has to do something with the defence. We are playing too high up and we are vulnerable to their counters. Perhaps a back 4 could make sense.
