It seems Del Piero and Toni are the only ones who haven't scored yet in this WC for their NT now.

IMO, next game should start with a 4-3-3

Del Piero---Inzaghi----Toni

60th minute, take Alex out, put Totti in and let him play as an AM like he's supposed to..

I don't want to gloat, but who was the only one to say that Materazzi was more than just bad fouls and actually a more than decent player ?

I so knew it wouldn't take you more than 20 minutes. First thing on my mind after Materazzi scored and I'm not even kidding.

Totti and Camoranesi were both very useful and valuable to this italy win. I strongly disagree with you about both of them.

Gilardino though was useless, he seems to suffer from an ibrahimovic-football brain........

Everyone had a hand on today's win. But Totti was useless and no one can deny this, I mean FFS, when you try to do some lob and it doesn't work with you, stop trying it and try to play your football, he tried to do that twice today If not three.

Camoranesi managed to grab lot of fouls, but he was very slow in the first half that allowed Nedved and his company to attack from Mauro's side....not to forget that his crosses and passes were somehow bad.

Inzaghi should have scored 2goals atleast today. Thank god he scored one though.

Gattuso ran like crazy today including Pirlo, well done Milanista....

Canna-Buffon as I said, these two were Fantastico...

Totti..Useless. Useless. Useless.

Gila...Useless. Useless.

Camo, didn't do that much and was slow at times...
then why do you want to vanish canna in one specific thread. :eyebrows: :disagree:

I'm a bit shocked about Matrix

Materazzi not only scored, but was solid in the back, and didnt give the ball away once during the game

Canna was my M.O.M. - pure class !!

I am already sick of Lippi switching players around, and formations.

Are we the only winning team so far that has switched formations and starters so often ?? We need our guys to gel, and that wont happen if Lippi keeps this up.

We tried to play with 4 across the midfield, but Lippi forgot that the only true winger he brought to Germany is Camo....Perrotta cant cross the ball...and neither can Barone

Is anyone else worried that in 2 games that we had a man advantage, we have only scored 1 goal ?? Our offense is very worrying.....

We need to get back to the attacking 4-3-3, and put Toni back in, along with Pippo. Either DP or Totti can be thrown into the left side as well...although I was very upset with Totti's weak shots today, and lack of form

my ratings-

Buffon 7.5
Zambrotta 6
Nesta n/r (Materazzi 7)
Cannavaro 8
Grosso 6
Gattuso 6
Pirlo 6.5
Perrotta 5.5
Totti 5.5
Camoranesi 5.5 (Barone n/r)
Gilardino 5 (Inzaghi 6.5)

I know some of u might find this quite crazy but I'd rather Italia face Croatia in the next round rather than the Aussies.

I'm not eager on playing the greater underdog coz thats how Italy might fall. I also believe the Aussies are what I call a "Spirit team" in that they are the kind of teams that wont win the WC but are there to cause others' hearbreak by playing the game of their life when they meet a team like us. All in all, I dont wanna meet Hiddink again
I agree at 100%! Australia is that kind of team against which Italy could really look stupid...
But Croatia is not so good for Italy, either...
Let's hope that their (Italy's) level of confidence is high now but please not too high (=overconfident - worst thing to happen)

Well... Justice was served, Materazzi proved me right :D

Nice to know you're thinking of me, by the way. :flirt:

oh boy, you are being to harsh on totti, the man was out months with serious injury. this is football not pinball, sure i wasnt that happy about his game, but how he gets to form if his not playing.

I wouldn't say Camoranesi was bad, it was Nedved who was sublime today Rab. He really wanted to take the team on his shoulders, like we all know him.

Yes, Totti's shots were useless. His on the ball play wasn't though, which heavily outweighs the bad shooting.

Slow? Mauro's side? In the first half Camoranesi was all over the pitch and very dynamic and hardworking. The only thing that didn't go for him was beating his opponents by dribbling past them, but that'll come.

Stephan....

About the Dp instead of Camo thing, I said that before the game....I would have subs Dp with Totti in the 2nd half, no doubt....and saying he just got back from Injury means nothing...as the chances he missed today were pretty much silly...Trying to lob the keeper two times when he could've send a rocket shot to him instead of turning into cufre with a ball. I really wasn't impressed with him at all, and I'd like to see him on the bench the next game...

Jeeks...

Indeed, Pavel really gave Camo,Canna and the rest some hard time today...I have lot of respect for a player like pavel.

moggi is talking with world cup referees as well :D ?

yes it was a mistake but this cards showing thing is gettin ridicilous already. tackles and mistakes are also part of football. it wasnt a game where you saw many mistakes made. sure that mistake on totti was bad, from back, but the first yellow wasnt worth yellow for pollak imo.

his shots on goal are weak still, so he tried lobs, yeah, it didnt work, but as i said, he doesnt have that power from foot to kick strongly currently. thats why i also said he needs to improve in trainings with freekicks. but it takes time. it is the lack of playing time!!!! but how else he will get form back if his not gona play right now. he needs to play, he needs!

he doesnt have rocket power on his shoes, yet.
