He's right. Conte is the NT coach, he should pick the best possible team. He shouldnt bother with 'developping players', thats what clubs do.
Ranocchia has(/had tbh) potential, but inter did great in murdering it. He has absolutely no place in the NT. He need to prove himself at club level.

Conte doesnt seemb to grasp the essense of NT coaching. He needs to decide what his best core formation is based on the best players, and work around that.

WHy is Verratti not the player the team has been build around ? Stupid insisting on Pirlo. He's no longer a key player, he's a very valuable experienced player to have

-----------------Buffon
-----Barzagli - Bonucci - Chiellini

Darmian----------------------------De Sciglio
--------De Rossi--Verratti--Marchisio

-----------El Sharaawy--Berardi

Rugani, Donnarumma and Insigne should play alot in friendlies as they are by far the most promising youngsters

Sucks to put a frontline cause there isnt really a quality ST

Ranocchia is garbage, Zach.
He plays like garbage but there is/was potential. But thats a discussion when it comes down to club level.

The highest quality players need to play for the NT. He plays like garbage so he shouldnt be there at all. Its good Conte returns to club coaching cause he is doing it wrong.

so Javier do you want to say something to Mughini? If he's tired of winning?
zanetti: just congrats that's it.
You want to add something Mughini?
Mughini: no no
Will the scudetto come back to inter?
Mughini: SURE!...just need to wait and it'll come back.
When?
Mughini: A century...50 years.

 I love Mughini. Owned cordoba last week and now zanetti.

Because he is not Pirlo. Pirlo was probably the only regista in history you can build the entire play around. Verratti can be an important player but he can't have the influence that Pirlo used to have. Italy needs to build a unit that fights for each other and not build the gameplan around the talents on any individual. They dont have such an individual talent in their ranks and so it will have to be team work.

Also, choosing players with potential is a good strategy if you are taking 2 or 3 of them in the squad. Players often realize their potential and explode on the scene during NT competitions. This strategy often pays dividends and its not like he is picking an entire squad based on potential. The reliable players are there in the selection.

I agree with you that the best form players have to be there. Candreva had a good season and so did Insigne and Zaza. Shaarawy did well also and so did Berardi and even Gabbiadini (in the little time he had). While none of the attackers are really very talented players, but atleast there is a lot of them that had good seasons and are in good form.

The real crisis is now in midfield. Verratti is the best player but has been terribly injured. He might not even make it to the Euros and if he does I wouldnt be surprised if he lacks match fitness or gets injured again. Marchisio is out. De Rossi had a horrible season. Montolivo had a horrible season. Motta was barely okay. Bonaventura had a good start to the season then steadily declined. None of the central midfielders can be expected to be reliable.

No wonder he will turn to Pirlo there really is no one else. Marchisio and Verratti were the only two guaranteed quality and they are both unavailable. This Euro will be very tough for Italy, the already weak squad lost its best players to injuries.

What? Verratti has been back for 2 matches already for PSG... Why would he not be ready for a competition that doesn't start for over 5 weeks?

Ranocchia has been horrible with Bologna (after not featuring at all for Inter in 1st half of season). He's errors-galore with Bologna. Have no idea why he got called up last time.

Conte has been decent overall.

Regista isn't Verratti's best role. It's the best role for Marchisio and DDR. And DDR shouldn't even be in the team (not as a midfielder) let alone start.

Pirlo hasn't been called up in a while I believe.

Contrary to the popular, wrong belief, Berardi isn't good enough to be in Italy's team. The not-uncommon suggestion of Berardi starting for Italy or Juve is pretty funny. If he does join Juve, a lot of the fans will be in for a shocker. He's good for his age, but he isn't nearly THAT good.

Perin was the better GK, but with Perin injured, Gigio should be in contention now.

Two of DDR (still does well as CB), Rugani, and Tonelli should be picked as the 4th and 5th CBs. Astori and Ranocchia are horrible choices, and all of the aforementioned three are better than Acerbi. Don't get why many complain about Romagnoli not getting called either. Makes absolutely no sense.

Title: nipples better than Juve at home.

It's like they want to be meelan.
But it's not even true. Sure, they have played one game less at home, but so far they also have two points less than us. They still have to win the home game before they can even claim this. Man, this is getting so sad..
