I'm just happy he got to play for his favourite club and score a couple of goals with us as well :touched:

Absolute legend of a player.

Anyway, decent round again in Serie A. Roma and Napoli dropping points. They play each other next week, and we play the filthy purple rats. More chance for us to jump up at least another place on the table.

Hope our players stay humble and continue with the hard work.

Once we start thinking we're invincible, things will go wrong.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for next Serie A's matchday.
In particular, our match against Fiorentina holds an incredible importance.

We have two more matches until the winter break and 4 matches until we complete the first half of the season. The last 3 matches will be against the three worst teams right now (Carpi, Verona and Sampdoria) and we have a very big chance of winning those. But Fiorentina comes before them.
Beating Fiorentina, and then getting the expected wins against the 3 minnows, will put us in a very nice position where we chase the leader by only 2,3 or 4 points (maximum 6, but only in case Inter wins all 4 matches), with an entire half season ahead of us. That will take lots of pressure off of our back. We'll take on our rivals (Roma, Napoli, Inter) on home ground. It will also be a psychological advantage for us. Inter, Napoli or Roma might handle the pressure of being chased by each other. But once they feel our breath on their back, they capitulate. Every single 50-50 decision going our way or against them will result with a media war, and these teams can't live with that. It destroys them psychologically. They will collapse.

But not beating the rats will have an opposite effect. We already pushed harder than normal in order to compensate for those opening 6 rounds. If after all this hard work we don't beat Fiorentina and find ourselves -8 or -9 pts behind the leaders during winter break, then all the work until now will go in vain, we will be the ones with a huge physical and psychological disadvantage, while it will be a huge boost for the teams in front of us.

In short, this game on Sunday and a win there is incredibly important on so many levels. I'd even treat it as a more important fixture than the match in Seville. The Viola match decides our serie A season.

Very true Alen, this should be the 2nd most important win after the derby win that was huge for our mental rejuvenation. Win a Viola that been dropping pts lately and we might for real believe we are scudetto worthy again. Aslong as we dont shit the bed vs the weakest teams coming after too.

:agree:

Agree with a lot of what you say but I actually think the games vs Carpi, Samp, Verona will be harder than you think. We have struggled against teams that sit back this season and could see us getting complacent if we get a result against Fiorentina.

Time will tell, but if we can win our next 4 games we will be in a superb position in the table and psychologically.

Either way the Fiorentina game is huge.

We've to win the home games against the top teams to have a chance of winning the scudetto, so Fiore game is without a doubt huge. Based on that result, we'll end 2015 at a striking distance from top spot or a team that's still concerned about breaking into the top-3 first.

Nice pointers by Alen about the psychological advantage/disadvantage and the three following easier games.

Also, the Fiore game will tell us exactly how good we are. We may have won 5 games in a row, but none of them were against good teams.

And don't get over-enthused about Napoli finally losing a game due to fatigue. A month ago, some were saying that we won't even finish in top-3. And now, we have already won the scudetto, lol.
