Second half of the Spalletti - Totti clash

http://www.fotmob.com/news/world/i...out+of+Roma+squad+after+Spalletti+criticism/

Roma captain Francesco Totti has been omitted from the team's squad for Sunday's Serie A match against Palermo after publicly criticising coach Luciano Spalletti.

Spalletti had previously hinted Totti could be in the Roma team for the Palermo match but appeared to change his mind after the 39-year-old's outburst.

Reports in Italy claimed Totti stormed out after being informed by Spalletti that he was not in the squad for the Palermo match.

We should sign Totti and win the treble with him as a bench player next year. @zizinho

Turn him into a Roma pariah to end his career, and have him win more in 1 season as Juve player than he has in his entire career as a Roma player :D

Palermo deserves to be relegated. Embarrassing team with embarrassing management.

My god, you'd think Totti is the fucking pope the way he's treated in Rome. He's a footballer who is way, way past it. Just drop him and move on. You've already given him immense respect and a proper burial. Turn the page.

But Roma can never do that because they're scared they won't ever get back to "achieving" what they did when he was young, which was not much to begin with, so they try desperately to hang onto the past.

Takes balls to arrive at Roma and kick legend°1 and his huge inflated ego out of the squad cause his attitude undermines the coach's authority.

Spalletti was totally right, they won with a big win and he'll now have every player under 40 behind him, respecting him.

All totti can now do, is shut the fuck up or lose face even worse

Goddamn well played Luciano.

I really dislike the disrespect against Totti here. He is the last man standing of the Legendary 4, a little more respect is appreciated. He was an extremely good footballer and lovely to watch. Me as Calcio lover can only have respect for players like this. We need to temper rare phenomenon. The same for Di Natale et cetera. But if I am fair he need to hang up his boots and be director or ambassador for the club.

Why should we respect Totti? He constantly disparages Juventus, calls us cheaters, match-fixers, etc... If anything more disrespect is needed for him. A lot of us aren't Italy NT fans, we're from all over the world, and cheer for Juve only, not Italy. Why would we have any like or respect for Totti?

I despise Totti, and think he is one of the most disgusting players in calcio of the last 20 years. I have absolutely no respect for him.

Maybe I am to sober compared to people in other countries. I don't really care about Totti's talk and yes he behave himself as a butthurt, but I can't being angry about it. I hear it and forget it, some people don't know better, get over it and look to the bright side. He plays 24 (!) years for Roma as professional, declined more bids from bigger clubs and he made himself a icon for not only Roma but for the whole Calcio, like the other three (Alex, Maldini, Zanetti).

So I agree his behaviour is really disgusting, but I swear I can't care about it and he is such a big legend even if I am not an Italy NT fan that he deserves more respect for his achievements and loyality. Just my opinion ;)

I once respected Totti but he has done nothing to preserve that. Those ridiculous duck face selfies and his loser mentality has really come to the fore as he has regressed. At the moment he is doing all he can to destroy his legacy at Roma by being egoistic and not showing any respect to his coach or team mates with his childish attitude, Ale for example would never act like that.

What achievements? He won 1 scudetto in 24 years. And that was during the few years Roma bankrupted themselves spending a fortune on players like Batigol to carry Totti to his 1 scudetto.

Overrated turd with a complete loser mentality who never challenged himself at a big club. Not worthy of my respect. :p

I respect Totti's ability, but his on & off field behaviour disqualifies him from the tier of the Del Pieros, Maldinis or Di Natales (know the latter hasn't been as good a player)

Perfect end for Totti and Roma. Fuck both of them.

Anyway not that I care that much either way, good on Spalletti. He's got this one right, the only one with balls to finally put an end to this Totti circus. They really should have ended it years ago.
