And this one of the reasons the top of Serie A is so weak right now. Juventus is a shadow of the machine we had the past few years. Roma is weaker than the team in 2013/14 with Strootman and Benatia. Napoli is nowhere near that Cavani-Lavezzi team. Milan is a shadow of the Ibra-Silva team. And so on.

The mid-table teams have gotten better, which leads to a logjam near the top, now that all the top teams are so weak compared to previous incarnations in recent years.

And unlike the sentiment posted a few post up about enjoying parity in the league as opposed to dominance... well, parity is great when the league is actually filled with top teams, like '90s Serie A. Parity is boring when the league is full of mediocrity, and severely lacking in star power.
