Roma set for Garcia showdown?
By Football Italia staff

Rudi Garcia will reportedly be asked to explain his recent comments when he meets the Roma leadership on Thursday.

The French Coach is said to have angered the Giallorossi hierarchy with his comments that he could not be expected to compete with Juventus.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini assured yesterday that the former Lille boss would stay, but Sky reports that Garcia will be asked to explain himself.

Sabatini, Mauro Baldissoni and Italo Zanzi are in London, and will be joined by the Coach on Thursday, when he arrives from Paris, as well as President James Pallotta.

The news outlet believes that the former Lille boss can look forward to an awkward exchange, as he will be asked to explain the reasons for his outburst.

Meanwhile, Sky also believes that the club is still targeting Torino full-back Bruno Peres.

The Brazilian is seen as the natural successor to Maicon, and after talks broke down in April, negotiations could be re-opened

So does that mean that defending is worse in Italy now? Gonna be hard to use the argument "defending in spain is worse".

Benitez: 'Ciao Napoli!'
By Football Italia staff

Rafa Benitez released a statement on his “two unforgettable years” at Napoli after he “did not have the chance to say goodbye.”

The Coach did not speak to the media after the 4-2 home defeat to Lazio on Sunday knocked them down to fifth place, out of the Champions League.

“As you all know because of special circumstances I did not have the chance to say goodbye to Naples, the Neapolitans and the Napoli fans as I would have really liked,” he wrote on his official website.

“So now as one chapter ends and another starts I want you to know my feelings. I have spent two unforgettable years in Naples enjoying a unique, beautiful city with a superb location. I enjoyed the people and the lifestyle of Neapolitans.

“Now as I say goodbye I would like to thank each and every one of you for the special times I spent there. There have been many special moments and each and every one is a sign of the affection that I have for the club and its fans.

“I'll keep the memories of two wonderful years and many experiences all my life. So many things, so many moments, heartfelt thanks to all.”

Benitez is due to take over at Real Madrid.

Official: Ancelotti says no to Milan

It’s reported Carlo Ancelotti has given his final response to Milan and refused a return to San Siro.

The Coach had several meetings last week with Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani and President Silvio Berlusconi assured he was “optimistic” on the deal going through.

However, the former Real Madrid boss flew out to Vancouver with his wife on vacation and said he’d give a reply by tomorrow.

A statement released by Milan confirmed Ancelotti has now told the Rossoneri "cannot be our Coach next season."

Ancelotti said in a Press conference last week that he’d “take a year off” if he was indeed sacked by Real Madrid.

He is also hoping to undergo back surgery to correct a long-standing health problem.

Milan now have to look elsewhere, with candidates including Sinisa Mihajlovic – who quit as Sampdoria Coach yesterday – and Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Montella.

Another option, Sevilla tactician Unai Emery, is reportedly closer to Napol

Well, goal statistics don't really mean anything tbh.

But I also don't get the arguments saying that the league is more watchable because of that :howler:
