I'm glad we didn't spend 30 million euros on Iturbe, he has looked like a headless chicken for Roma so far.

Ljajic has been their best attacker this season.
:agree:

They should really be retiring Totti to matches against smaller Serie A sides, and easy EL opponents. Ljajic is wasted out wide, and should be playing Totti's role in big matches, which I believe he would thrive in.

Iturbe is just  I was so wrong about him. :sergio:

Hah, I was saying the same thing to my Roma friend yesterday. What are they doing with Totti? People put so much hate onto Gervinho but every time I look up it's Gervinho who is running the full field and busting into the opponent's box. Where is the striker?? Totti can't keep up. I always see a winger making a good move with the ball into the box but there is no one central unless Radja busts his ass to finish it off.

Ljajic should be playing CF. He is better than Totti or Destro.

I thought they should have lined up Gervinho-Ljajic-Florenzi yesterday.

Same. Gervinho-Ljajic-Florenzi would be by far the best attack for that squad, with Ljajic playing a no 10 type forward, with freedom to drop deep and roam about a bit, as he is very talented on the ball.

Gervinho is a terrible finisher, but part of that is because he is constantly trying to finish chances where he is in full sprint to outrun the defender, and taking angled drives from the side of box, where if there were a forward with a decent bit of pace to support him, the right option would be to dink a pass into the centre of the box for a much easier finish.

Iturbe would have been my choice for a winger opposite Gervinho coming into the season, but he's been appalling and Florenzi has looked much better when he has played.

That sub yesterday, Ljajic off for Iturbe, when Ljajic had looked quite good all game to that point, was such a bonehead move by Garcia. What was he thinking. Ljajic has the creativity and dribbling to unlock a packed defense, which is what City had set up with the 1-0 lead at that point. Iturbe needs an open game, with space to run, and that just wasn't there. Terrible, terrible sub. And then Destro for Totti was just as stupid. It should have been Florenzi for Totti, and then Strootman for Pjanic, as Pjanic was appallingly bad yesterday, which seems to be often the case against big teams that can mark him out of the game.

When Roma plays Pjanic and Totti against big sides, they are both so easily marked out the game. It really limits Roma offensively.

me too. cant believe i wanted him here :sergio:

but what if Marotta fooled them all along? 1st he makes everyone think we want Iturbe. his price goes up to 27M and Roma sees an opportunity to take a player from us. Roma end up paying 22M for a flop while we get Romulo for cheap. Verona win, Juve win, Roma lose

you're not the only one, I was strongly against his move the moment Juve were quoted 30 million

Totti should just retire.

I hope he doesn't though, he's holding Roma back :seven:
and the fact that roma can't afford to replace him with a decent signing

Unlike us they have a lot of fans in Milan and 42k doesn't make sense.
It's a myth about our lack of fans in Turin. We have more fans than Torino do.

The even funnier thing? We probably have just as many fans in Milano as Milan and Inter do :D

But yes, 42K is way too small. They should be looking to build at least 55K minimum IMO.
