I have no idea what you read, but what I read is that Benatia himself stated that the new contract offer this summer was 'a joke' while numbers said it was 2.5mln plus bonuses. What Benatia asked was a 400% higher wages, which after one year (of wonderful season) doesn't make much sense IMO.

I'm not defending anyone. I think that Roma can be blamed (if you're making a case how they signed Iturbe) but if it was (and it was) Benatia pushing for the way out then oh well.
That's the thing here. Roma's offer came little too late, as both parties agreed previously to discuss new terms before the end of season. Once Roma's mgmt realized that Benatia might leave the club this summer, they decided to offer him better terms, but by then United and Bayern already made their approach through his agent. Too late for them.

I have no idea what you read,
His interview from last spring.

When people used to say 'Totti is great' you're surely gonna see 'Del Piero is better' discussion next.

But this Sabatini vs Marotta is one of the funniest things ever. Everyone is gonna laugh how much they spent, yet nobody says how shit they were with Sense. Everyone is gonna say how somebody is sold, yet nobody would mention the numbers of fees when they bough him. Of course, same people will ignore the fact how we were one of biggest spenders in Europe, yet choked there.

Still, what's even worse is that it has to be a comparison and Marotta is instantly being brought in. The Marotta defenders have to step up and claim how we signed star players. Yet same will deny the bad transfers, same deny the reality of an average mercato that we have right now.

Whenever I praise Sabatini people jump in saying how Marotta is great.
:agree: I am on your side. Marotta may be better, but there is no need to bash Sabatini at every turn. Heck, Marotta ain't even all that great, come to think of it.

Walter Sabatini, May 2014: "30M? That's the value of Benatia's weak foot".

Fucking clown.

I wonder what some people would've said if Marotta stated this and then sold the guy for that price.

Roma :sergio:

They need to treat their players better if they want to avoid situations like these. Benatia didn't ask for enormous wages few months ago, certainly was affordable player by Roma's standards, but eventually became unsatisfied after their reluctance to offer him slightly improved deal and forced his way out. It was more matter of a principle here. Benatia was on 1.25m net, while Burdisso earns 2.5m. Fantastic work by Roma's mgmt here. If something like this happened in Juventus I can only imagine the amount of flack ours would get.
40m for Benatia is a must sell deal, they bought decent backups for him

People were sceptical when they offloaded Lamela and Marquinhos in the previous summer but then they finished 2nd, now they offloaded Benatia only and people sceptical again, but now ROma have Astori, Manolas and Iturbe and they've spent less than 40m on this trio of players

Torres very close to Milan.
What u think guys? IMO, he is could be a decent replacement for Balotelli. If he wants to reborn.
Depends on the exact terms of the deal.

Given the size of Torres's wages, I'd say it's a pretty high-risk move.

I'd have preferred to stick with Pazzini as the main centre-forward rather than gamble on Torres.

so, what are we looking at?

de sanctis
maicon - castan - manolas - cole
pjanic - de rossi - nainggolan
iturbe - totti - gervinho
?

i have the feeling i missed someone (despite injured strootman)?!
They also signed Astori.

I guess he'll be the one who starts with Castan, at least until Manolas has had some time to settle in.

What's up with Amauri and cheese? If you google ' zdjęcie Amauriego z serem na głowie ' (a photo of Amauri with cheese on his head) this is the first result:
