Genoa denied UEFA licence
By Football Italia staff

Genoa have failed to gain a UEFA licence, which could mean the seventh club in Serie A qualifies for the Europa League.
The battle for a place in the competition looks set to go down to the wire, but some news is set to change the situation all over again.
Genoa saw their application for a UEFA licence rejected by the FIGC, so they would not be able to compete in the Europa League even if they qualified.
The Grifone are the only club to have failed in their bid to get a licence, having turned in paperwork late and also not given a suitable stadium for their home games.
City rivals Sampdoria also play at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, but pledged to have their Europa League home fixtures at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium until restructuring work can be completed.
If Genoa also lose an appeal against the decision, they won’t be allowed to enter UEFA competition and the next placed team in the Serie A table will take their place.
That gives real hope to Torino and Inter, who are in the running for qualification.
Last season Parma were excluded, sending seventh-placed Torino into the Europa League preliminary rounds.
The Granata went as far as the Round of 16, eventually eliminated by Zenit.

Hmmmm......

Bad news for Genao. What is wrong with Luigi Ferraris? It is a old stadium without facilities, but it is not in a very bad state imo. Genoa is the oldest club in Italy and they have great supporters, have a lot of youth products each year and they play with much pressure and a attacking mind under Gasperini.

Very, very hopefully for Inter. For the coefficient Inter will be better, because I think that Toro will lose their star players Kamil Glik and Matteo Darmian in summer.

You have got to be kidding me man, fuck Inter. Were they crying when we went down to serie b or when we finished 7th two seasons in a row? Don't think so. They can go to serie d for all I care.

And Luigi Feraris is actually my second favourite stadium after the Juventus Stadium in Italy. Don't know what's wrong with it.

I think i formulated it wrong or you didn't unterstand me. What i mean was that it a hopeful situation is for Inter. I wanted Genoa on the last Europa League spot, but it is impossible now. Torino / Inter don't care who goes in Europe, the only thing i think is that Inter can go far in the tournament and Torino not because they will lose their star players.
