They surely are going through a rough patch but they also definitely have all the elements in place to over take us over the next couple of years when our star players retire or leave. Their squad's backbone is much younger. Unless Pjanic, Radja and co get sold a la benatia.
No way man, not in million years.

How much do Roma even make annually? Their revenue is surely nowhere near ours. Meaning they can't overtake us consistently in the next few years any more than we can hope to overtake Madrid in the next few.

I don't see Roma even maintaining their current level tbh, they will continue to sell star players and go after decent but not great players from Italy/obscure European leagues.

Garcia praises Roma reaction
By Football Italia staff

Rudi Garcia insists Roma “deserve praise for their reaction” in a 1-1 draw with Empoli, their fourth in a row.

This was the Giallorossi’s fourth consecutive stalemate and they are without a victory on home turf since November 30.

Tomorrow Juventus can extend their lead at the top to 10 points, but Napoli could also close to within four of Roma.

“When we are in a difficult moment with so many problems, we can only praise the reaction of the team,” Garcia told Sky Sport Italia.

“Not only were we a goal down and a man down, but in the second half we stepped up the tempo and did everything to win.

“Astori hit the crossbar, Iturbe went off, so let’s just say at the moment luck is not on our side.”

Garcia refused to criticise his players for this current trend of playing awful first halves only to fight back after the break.

“The reaction in the second half was that of a great team. We proved that we know the right path in terms of tactics, quality and physicality. We do know that we should push more from the start. I think our fans are happy with the second half. They want to see the whole game like that and above all to win. We are working on it.

"We know things will go better when I have more choices at my disposal.”

That should improve with news Roma signed Seydou Doumbia from CSKA Moscow for €14.4m plus add-ons.

“Doumbia is done, we’ll see tomorrow night if Gervinho and he return or continue the African Cup of Nations.

“We need to grit our teeth at this moment and will do everything to return to victory, starting from Tuesday. We want to qualify and have only three days to recover.”

Roma play Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Tuesday.

Iturbe suffers double sprain
By Football Italia staff

There are concerns for Roma striker Juan Iturbe, who sprained his knee and ankle, but tests are needed for ligament damage.

Iturbe fell awkwardly just 20 minutes into tonight’s 1-1 draw with Empoli, as his right foot was caught under him and turned badly.

The medical staff released a statement confirming “the Argentine forward has sprained his right ankle and knee.”

More tests are required tomorrow, as the real fear is ligament damage.

It’s the last time Roma need, as Kevin Strootman is out for the rest of the season with cartilage damage and Daniele De Rossi sidelined for a month.
Double sprain. LOL

After tomorrows results, these guys could be closer to Roma: Napoli(-4), Sampdoria(-6), Lazio(-6), and Fiorentina(-8)...all closer to Roma than Roma is to us if we win tomorrow. (Minus Viola who would also be -8 pts and us +8)

Last season was hilarious

Do you remember the waves of people who were saying we should be more like Roma
:touched:

There are still some here who praise their GM and bash ours.
