Can someone post Chiellini's blunders from this season, as I really don't think he made that many to deserve constant criticism around here. But could be wrong and might have forgotten few, so anyone?

Should i mention that ? Directly responsible for costing the game against Madrid in Bernabeu. That first goal conceded was due to his mistake. Also wasnt the pen his mistake too ? Nevermind the red card. Also in the Copenhagen game, the mistake in first goal was down to him again IIRC.

Also one reason he gets a criticism a lot lately is i believe he's trying to be more and more like Lucio.Make forward runs with the ball and quite clumsily i might add(atleast Lucio was comfortable with the ball on the other hand),leave gaps at the back and the leaves the defense in dangerous positions in the process.I tend to think he has lost a bit of his pace too.

But was it a penalty? How many refs would give that one? Well even if it was one, we're talking about one mistake and his thread is source of constant hateful comments.

First goal wasn't his mistake; Pirlo let Di Maria to go past him rather easily and Chiellini had to step in to close the possible shot, thus leaving his position. I mean he misplaces few passes now and then, but have you seen his thread? One would get a feeling he makes blunders that lead to a goal every game when in fact he made one mistake that I can remember of; in Serie A against Inter.

But how many goals have we conceded as a direct fault of his forward runs and I don't think he does those by his choice entirely. Don't you think Conte has something to say about those runs? He would be blind not to notice these while most of us here behind the screens do.

Chiellini also was responsible for 2 or 3 of the goals we conceded in the early part of the season, I'm thinking the Hellas, Chievo, etc. games. He has improved since then and was very solid in the last few weeks, but those mistakes still drag him down in my books. I'd maybe rank him 5th best CB in Serie A, after Benatia, Barzagli, Campagnero and Lucarelli (Parma, has done great considering his team members).

If he continues his current form, he might well be in my team of the season come may, but so far, no.

I remember Buffon making a mistake against Chievo, but not Chiellini. If you're referring to Verona game, Barzagli missed a header and then Isla failed to make a clearance. I want some concrete games, not etc :D I can only remember one against Inter when his poor first touch gifted them an opener.

It's very easy to jump on the bandwagon of hate around here (I'm not talking of you Ocelot). Once you make a mistake your every move will be under scrutiny; even when one is faultless and puts in solid performances most of the time.

True, for some reason I thought Chiellini was at fault for Hellas....must have mixed it up with the Kopenhagen game, where it was pretty much the same situation :D

The more I think about it the more uncertain am I about any mistakes Chiellini supposedly made :boh:
I mean he was very sketchy against Fiorentina, but then again, the whole team was, so I can't hold really hold that against him individually.

I probably have to admit that I mixed up his CL with the Seria A performances. In that case, I rest my judgement of him for now, I need some more time to "remake" my mind about him.

He has had a fairly mediocre 2013, I would question his status as a top tier defender lately for sure (you dont need game losing errors to notice this), so embarrassingly dumb in several occasions. That and we need to stop playing him so offensively, he is horrible with the ball...
