Why is that desperate?
Considering the transfer window just closed a little over a month ago, where it was obvious then that their defense is bad, yet they couldn't manage to get anyone in that position. They're trying to beat any competition by making it official this early, considering any team could outbid them since its just a loan move with option to buy. I find it comical.

Wonder what really went down in Spain to make the club kick him out the door like that.
He talked shit about his coach & teammates on Spanish radio, so Valencia suspended him & told him he'd never play for them again. That's why this was able to be done so quickly & that they're okay with him going to train with Milan already, they literally just don't want to see his face ever again.

He's ousted by his club and wouldn't get a game. This way Milan can have him train with the squad, learn the tactics, language and culture and then hit the ground running when he's allowed to be purchased and registered in January. All the while he gets attached to the club. I still fail to see how that is "desperate" - just smart.
