He was amazing last year. He couldn't explode when Lavezzi was in the team, because he didn't have as much space to roam around. But with Lavezzi's departure, Hamsik was given a free role and lots of space up front. Thus his 11goals/14assists season in serie A last year. But with Cavani gone, Hamsik's goal scoring record will improve, probably at the expense of his assists record. Since people mostly notice the goals, it will seem like this is the season when Hamsik played his best football.

I'm really glad that Napoli got such a group in CL. Let them enjoy for now, but sooner or later their serie A results will have to suffer at the expense of CL. Very good team, though.
