When fit, I think Rossi is a very good player. If Fiorentina can get him back to his best level, this is a coup for them. A very good signing. If they fail to do that, then it's obviously money down the drain.

Personally, I believe he'll return to former heights. He's only 25 years old, so he has plenty of time to make a full recovery before his peak years.

Why 18 months? I thought he would be injury-free around March? If he starts to regain his fitness from that moment onwards, I think he could play a vital role for them next season. He'd have 5 months to get ready for next season.

My apologies if I'm misinformed about the length of his injury.

first of all rossi had one fluke season in spain of all places, second there is no way he could be back to anywhere near that level with his chronic injuries and time away from playing.
Exactly. 10 million euros + 6 million in bonus is absolutely insane. Fiorentina better qualify for the CL or they will find themselves in a quite precarious financial position.

at this point it should be seen as a 10 mil trnasfer, the 6 mil would only kick in if his play justifies that price tag, which it wont

I don't think CL can cut it for them. I mean, we qualified and came out as top earners with 17,1m Eu. Plus they've got some relatively heavy earners.
Probably. They're planning to build a new stadium and they have already chosen the location. Even without the law on stadiums, they have a pretty good chance of building their stadium (40 000 seats) but it won't be ready before 2017 at the very least.

So yeah, their financial situation doesn't look good at the moment.

No. Corinthians own 60% of his rights and Pato owns 40% of his rights.

Milan sold him outright.
So that means Corinthians have actually just paid 9 mil for Pato, and he paid the rest of that fee (6 mil) from his own pocket !

Pretty decent move from Corinthians, hope he does extremely well there (his got the skills nodoubt) and pisses Milan fans :xfinger:
