PSG offered what, 30M last year? could very well be true.
They did, but his injury nightmare has persisted since then, and you'd have to be utterly mad to pay that amount of cash for a player who is bound to get injured again. You just know he is.

I say bluff.

They have a location but they'll need one more year to get all papers done apparently. But they said the look will be like Gillete stadium.
I have no idea about american stadiums or sports in general but is Gilette stadium another name for Houston Reliant stadium ? Because i read they are going to be modelling on this Reliant stadium..

asroma_uk forzaroma.info - Roma's stadium plans are rumoured to be inspired by Houston's Reliant Stadium, which cost $352m

Would be cool tbh.

No. Reliant and Gillette are two different venues. Gillette is an open stadium and while it has a design popular in the NFL, especially among teams playing in the North/North-East, I am not sure it's well suited for European footie. If Roma's new stadium indeed has anything to do with gillette's design, it would likely be very loosely based on it. Dome designs like the Reliant or Lucas, in Indianapolis, would be more like it, I think.

Either way, with the new US-based ownership, Roma's stadium may well be modeled by one of the NFL venues here.

Would be cool if they model it on the Houston one..From the inside, looks like a mixture of Giuseppe Meazza and Bernabeu but obviously this would be a much smaller one ,even talking in terms of capacity..

But do you guys think 60k capacity is a bit of a risk taken by the owners ? Roma average 35k atm with the Olimpico..Remains to be seen if a 60K seater will be filled in week in week out though.

I think they will have 50k filled almost every weekend. I think even this season they had Olimpico filled, with the change of owners a lot of things changed.

Like with us, I think more people attend matches.

They had an average of 60k in the Olimpico back in 2001. Of course, they had a much better team back them but I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to fill their new one. Since the stands will be close to the pitch, people will be more attracted to it.

We had a big jump in attendance with our new stadium, I expect them to have a similar one.

Yeah and to an extent i think it will depend on what type of results they achieve on the pitch as well in the next few years..Look how we are doing now which is one of the reasons why the stadium is filled to capacity week in week out.

I think Roma will try to achieve something close to that. They have a great young team afterall.

That Reliant Stadium looks cool and shit but as a fan I would hate it, it would totally ruin the atmosphere, how the fuck they're supposed to light flares, smoke bombs, petards in there? The next thing they will ask the fans to hold those big dildos in their hands like they do in basketball. :sergio:

:D Reliant has a retractable roof (that white cover thingy). I personally like Veltins Arena's design as a stadium with a roof - the pitch of the stands is what you'd see in European stadiums as opposed to the less slanted, flatter stands usually seen in NFL stadia (especially common for the stands closest to the field).
