“Pato asked us to allow him to go back to Brazil,” the former Prime Minister noted. “He’ll join Corinthians, but with the promise that he’ll return to us in the future.”
When asked about a new striker for January, 34-year-old Drogba and Roma’s Osvaldo were told they can stay with their respective clubs.
“They are too old for us,” he continued. “After 26 years, we’ve put a stop to spending crazy money in order to build a young side for the next 10 years.
“We need two or three years to become competitive in Italy and the world again.”
