Regarding the WC talk, it's been said here before. WC is when you are between the top players of the world at your position. U may not even be the best at it, but there's no one much better than you right now.

So at Juve we have:

Buffon - WC and legend (best gk in Serie A);
Chiellini - WC (best defender in Serie A, he's back to his form that made him one of the best in Europe);
Barzagli - very good defender (but no WC IMO, needs to excel in Europe. But is the 2nd best CB in Italy, just behind Bonucci)
Litch (RB)- WC (best right back in Serie A, one of the top in Europe);
Isla (WRB)- WC (he's not completely proven, but very few players in the world can perform the way he does as a WRB. He's a very good player who plays in a position where very few guys can excel. So he is WC in this RWB position. Obviously the best in Serie A)
Asamoah (WLB) - very very good player, just need some time to establish himself as a WC player in this position. Top in Serie A.
Pirlo - WC and Legend
Vidal - WC - right now he's one of the top DM in the world. Actually call him DM is unfair. He's an all around midfielder, top in the world.
Marchisio - very good player, but still needs to show his stuff in CL to call him WC. Definitely top in Italy.

also:

Bonucci - he's developed a lot, and is important for the scheme and also in national team. Doesn't have WC potential IMO, but is top in Italy.
Giovinco - good player, can become very very good. Top in Italy. But I don't think there's WC potential.
Vucinic - good player. Can be very good.

For the future, we have also Pogba and Marrone, who have WC potential, both of them.

so as of this moment, Buffon, Chiellini, Pirlo, Vidal, are established as WC players in their positions. Also there is Litch, but he's playing out of position.

In the near future, Barzagli, Isla, Asamoah and Marchisio, if perform well in Europe, can also be considered as WC.

In the long run, Pogba and Marrone can get their.

It's an awesome core of players, definitely. If Giovinco keeps developing and Vucinic has a more stable level of performances, we could be competitive against any team in Europe.

If we're to say top 5 in their position, I'd go for Buffon, Pirlo and Chiellini from Juventus.

I have the feeling Lichtsteiner is there as well, but we need him to maintain form in the Champions League.

Our only true WC players are Buffon, Chiellini and Pirlo. Vidal is getting close to that level and maybe Marchisio soon too. Licht while great certainly isn't WC and Isla & Asamoah may end up true WC in time. Barzagli is also great but not proven enough yet to be considered WC. If he is his usual brickwall self in the CL he can definitely be considered WC.

Vidal must be in there, surely. Name 5 better DMs than him, in the world? Thing about Vidal, too, is that he isn't just one of the best DMs around, but he has an attacking element to his play as well. He's truly special. A bit inconsistent when it comes to passing, but that's his only flaw.

Even though Lichtsteiner might be top 5 in RBs, I don't think he is good enough to be considered 'WC'.

Why do you even bother mate, they worship Nocerino FFS:D
hehe nah, I'm writing for u guys. And for myself. It's amazing, but I think the only 2 positions where you can find better players in Italy is in attack. Snejder, Jovetic, Cavani, are better than what we've got. Other than this, I think we have the top player in country for every other position. Hamsik is no better than our mids. De Rossi is great but Pirlo and Vidal are also WC. Our wingbacks and defense have every top player in the country. Maybe Pereira can keep up with Asamoah but isn't any better.

Really impressive.

A team with the top players in Italy: 3-4-3

Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Isla, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah; Sneijder, Jovetic, Cavani.

It hurts to leave Marchisio out but Sneijder is just fucking amazing.

In my concept, no matter how good you are, if u're good enough to be in top 5 in the world, it means you are a WC player at that position.

I'd class Vidal as a box to box midfielder, and his form in the second half of the season was a lot better than the first half. I'd like to see him continue that for a while first, good thing he has that opportunity in the Champions League over the next few months.

Even though Lichtsteiner might be top 5 in RBs, I don't think he is good enough to be considered 'WC'.
That's exactly the problem with the "world class" label that is used so often in football debates, people all have different requirements.

Edit: See, PedroFlu disagreed with you on that. Point proven.

Sneijder in inter right now is no way top XI. Not since 2010WC anyway.

Buffon
Isla-Barza-Chiellini-Vidal
Pirlo
Asamoah-De Rossi-Marchisio
Cavani-Jovetic

I don't think that makes sense, because what if say suddenly there were no top GKs and Rubinho turned out to be the best GK in the world...would you still call him WC?
