:D

I'm not saying that their mercato is bad, I was just amused how people again start talk about their great mercato, when in all honestly they will again finish in the middle of the pack. And that is not a bad think.

I can just see it happening, Guidolin > Milan.

FUCK.
Doesn't he have to wait till the next season to coach another Serie A team?

Apart from them signing C.Zanetti, Marchionni from us and selling Felipe Melo in the same summer, I can't remember being impressed by their mercato and can't recall anyone singing praises to it either. Also, I think they'll finish in European positions this year.

I also remember Fiorentina been mentioned as a club with the best mercato before, also there was Geona once, and of course all mighty Roma is mentioned almost every year.

You're right, people liked their team (Vargas, Jojo, Gila, Prandelli etc) but not their mercato.

The ultimate "I wish we signed him" mercato was Genoa when they got Rafinha and Veloso in the same summer.

Fiorentina blast 'unworthy' Berbatov
By Football Italia staff

Fiorentina released a blistering statement blaming “the arrogance” of Juventusand Fulham for ruining their Dimitar Berbatov deal. “He didn’t deserve to wear our jersey.”

The transfer saga took numerous twists today, as fans were waiting at the airport for Berbatov to arrive for his medical this afternoon, but he never turned up.
Juventus intervened and had apparently agreed a deal with Manchester United after offering higher wages, but tonight it was reported he had snubbed them too for Fulham.

“ACF Fiorentina announce that the transfer for Dimitar Berbatov definitively collapsed after an agreement with Manchester United had been concluded (with shared exchange of contracts, the first instalment paid and the financial guarantees for the second instalment ratified) and after reaching a verbal agreement with the player over his contract.

“During today the English club had allowed their player the written permission to come to Florence for a medical and to sign his contract.

“The player got on the flight with his agent and on tickets paid for by Fiorentina. He never arrived in Florence.

“This was down to outlandish and arrogant behaviour of other clubs, who have nothing to do with fair play and sporting ethics that go even beyond the confines of fairness.

“As for the player, apart from his characteristics and his value on the field, at this stage we are happy he didn’t come to Fiorentina. He did not deserve our city, to wear our jersey or the values that represent it.”
