if you call him a great transfer without acknowledging that he was mediocre for us, than diego was a great deal too, because he could have/should have owned everything and he was a star in germany
Diego is an average player and seemed a little overpriced at 25m..

Lets just say Ibra did much much better in his time with Juventus than this overrated Brazilian Flop ?

i honestly don't think you watched juve games back then... many people very upset that capello did play ibra the egomaniac instead of alex ... very few would have argued with capellos decision if ibrahimovic wasn't such a choker for us back then. he scored less then matri even though our team was hugely superior to the opponents we played back then, while matri played in an upgraded 7th place team.

I'm not defending ibra or that team but honestly that team simply just can't be hoped to score goals... none of our forward was any near the top scorer in the league back then, that team just couldn't create goals.

then by your definition huntelaar probably did not flop at milan either by scoring 7 goals in 30 matches, right ? pretty similar story of someone scoring plenty in the dutch league and then failing miserabily in serie a.
Huntelaar was played out of position a lot of the time at Milan by that dolt Leonardo.

He didn't exactly set the world on fire either. Without Ibrahimovic Juventus would've been fine, without Juventus Ibrahimovic wouldn't be the player he is right now.
YOu're looking at him from todays perspective, and if you compare him to the Zlatan of today of course he wasnt as good.

But he was a very young player then, still adapting to the league and developing, so just because he wasnt the player he is today doesnt mean he flopped.

When he came to Juve Zlatan was not considered a pure goalscorer nor a classic target man, he didnt score as many goals then and the first time he scored over 20 league goals was under Mourinho. He is an incredible player but there is so much more to him than scoring gooals.

Even in the Dutch League his highest goal tally is 13 goals, so you cant compare him with Huntelaar whose only job is to score.

In his first season with us he scored 13 goals, which is decent, in the second he scored 7, which is too few, but like I said, his game is about much more than goals so to say that he flopped is a huge overstatement.

I'm LOVING Peelan's situation! Silva GONE, Ibra will be GONE, hopefully even Cassano\Boetang will be GONE. Now they'll rely on their remarkable captain Ambrosini and their extremely-talented Nocerino. Best part is none of the moolah will be reinvested.

I was reading some local Inter and Milan forums and saw their bitching about players leaving and mediocrities incoming, and it just brought a smile upon my face. We're so much above them right now and will be even more in the next few years.

If there is one team in Serie A (not the big teams) that is attractive enough for a Sheik to buy, which one would it be? Which team can you see become the new City or PSG in Italy? Maybe Sampdoria or Genoa? They have the stadium, great city, a lot of fans that show up and they are located in the north and not the crazy south.

None imo..Most of the Serie A clubs are owned by Italian Businessman and when you talk about the relatively 'top' clubs ,most presidents are ego-maniacs and i dont see them relinquishing the ownership of their respective club so easily.

Since you're asking this question i feel Napoli with their large fanbase(Most supported club outside the 'big 4') and their rich past can be the new PSG/City of Serie A but obviously ADL wont give up on the club since he has put in so much effort into making this club a great team in the present day.

There is so much red tape with Italian politics, I doubt most can be bothered.
