Screw Serie A.
:agree:

I don't care what stars leave the league, I will be happy if its us winning the league every year without any competion and everyone thinking its boring.

Serie A deserve it for what they did during Farsopoli.

We can just build up our Scudetto collection and concentrate on winning the Champions League :juventus:

can't say I'm enthusiastic with that prospect, on one hand you have bayern case and in the other hand you have ajax case...

I'm a fan of Juve first but of calcio second. I can't imagine how people can say "screw serie A, let the stars leave." Not only is it short sighted and childish but would also make for lesser football.

Maybe I'm just a fan of football first and Juve second then v0v

So you guys would like to see Inter and Milan sign/keep star players just to make Italian football competive?

Fuck that.

I didn't see them shedding a tear for us in 2006 after they dismantled one of the strongest squads in Serie A history!

These clubs failed to live within their means and they are now reaping what they sow.

They were the ones that were short sighted and went for success in the short term while our management were clever enough to see the bigger picture. (can't believe I called Secco and co clever) :D

Im a Juve fan first and foremost and I will not be sad to see our rivals become a flea market.

Doesn't matter whether you shed a tear or not, a poor league will mean less money for Juve and less competition. Makes it less attractive to top players.

I don't like it when people talk of "cycles" in this either, Serie A is at a point where it needs to force a cycle instead of sitting back.

Most pepole here seems like they miss to notice that there is a global trend in all of football right now, and all major leagues are becoming a 2 or 3 horses race.

It is already the status-que right now in Spain ,Germany and France.
In england the situation is different but thats only because of the tycoons pumping money and even that will end someday so its too early to judge, City and Chelsea rose fast but they can sink back just as fast and the EPL is left again with 2-3 top teams.
The same thing happend to Serie A a long time ago, it was Milan and Inter and now that we are back Inter expirey date passed and they are again shelved till the next decade or so.
Pepole need the relax, Its not like Milan has self-destroyed, they will still be a good side this season whatever happens this mercato and if not they will be better the next year.

Again,in terms of general league competitiveness the game have changed. We need to take into account the talent pool available for medium-sized clubs deminished drasticlly IMO and even worse then that, since football became rapidly global in terms of supportes, naturaly the big clubs have widen the already big gap in terms of revenues and left smaller clubs unable to offer comprable wages to solid players that prefer earning much, much more and sit on a bench.

Football itself changed, not just Serie A.

I believe other clubs in Serie-A will look at what we have done and follow suit. During the next 5-15 years, I expect to see a lot more modern stadiums. Serie-A will redeem itself, but in the meantime, let's just harvest as many scudetti as we can!

That said, I believe Milan will re-invest and be a formidable opponent still.

I wish good to Calcio, just not to Milan and Inter.

And IMO that's the case with 95% Juve fans here.
None of the other clubs in the league have the same commercial pull as the Milan clubs. Unless an oil lord takes over some middling club, it'll have to be those two that determine the true strength (along with Juve) which is the best clubs in the league.

Don't confuse caring about those teams for understanding the impact having poor teams in the league has on Juve.

Of course star players leaving Serie A will have consequences for Juve but players have been useing this league as a stepping stone to the EPL or La Liga for years now and even if household names like Ibra or Sneijder leave there will always future stars who would jump at the chance to join Milan or Inter.

I will be happy to watch Juve win every year until Serie A has got its house in order and couldn't care less which stars abandon their clubs.

France has had a different league winner for the past 3-4 seasons, stop making shit up.

So I'm making shit up now because of that, it's kinda weak...

In all honsty maybe I could have dropped France as it may not be major league, but the point is still valid and when PSG will win the league in the next 3-4 years it will be even more so...

Do you usually respond like that or just having a shitty day?

Short sightedness at best on the part of some here.

Fuck Serie A = Fucked up Juventus in the not too distant future.

When teams sit down to renegotiate TV deals, less money will be flowing in because the league is unattractive, and has failed to attract top stars. Soon enough, the league will become a feeder league for other leagues (and will eventually fall behind the Bundesliga, and even Ligue 1) and even Juventus will fail to attract top players (unless we are the only club making an offer for them, or they love us so much that they refuse to play for anyone else).

A weak Serie A (which Juventus could potentially could win at a canter every season) implies lack of competition, which would in turn mean us getting raped a la Bayern not too long ago (1-4 anyone?!), because no one measures up to us in the league, and we have no competition.

Obviously, I don't want Milan and Inter buying top talent, but the least they can do is keep their star players!

Perhaps, there is hope yet. Taxes on the super rich increasing to 70% in France, England, Spain, and Germany, and people to stop relying on oil could be a start :D
