I know what a gypsy is from tv and movies but I feel like Europeans have a somewhat different idea of what the term gypsy refers to then Americans.

Think of Aladdin. The gypsies we have in the Balkans are dark. In the rest of the world, gypsies refers to Roma people. We have those too but they're white. So yeah, we have our own type of gypsies here. They smell and are dirty and steal. They look like Indians.
