for what? they will not qualify once again, italy need uefa points
If you're worried about coefficient points, it might actually be better to have strong teams like Lazio and Napoli in the Europa League, since the stupid rules state that CL and EL matches are worth the same.

Obviously not Italian teams, and they should. Do you know how Germany managed to usurp Italy in the rankings and gain that coveted 4'th spot in the CL? Exactly! They took the Europa League seriously ;)

Still, they'll beat a lot of the weaker teams in the Europa League, and will probably amass the same number of points, if not more, than what they would get if they played in the CL.

Winning the trophy doesn't really matter. The point is that German teams managed to keep amassing points by winning Europa League matches, while Italian teams were doing half-decently in the CL, but just not playing enough matches overall to keep up with the Germans.

Things will get a *bit* better for the Italian teams now, their points wont be divided by 7 but by 6! Success!

But in all seriouesness, yes, Italian teams really do need to take the Europa League seriously if they ever want to get that 4th CL spot again. Wont happen for a very, very long time I think.
