Zingaro: Apps:44 Goals: 22 Assists: 13
Villa: Apps: 52 Goals: 23 Assists: 9

Nuff said.
Except Ibrahimovic played as the main striker while Villa has been played on the left ever since he's come to Barcelona. Stats don't tell the whole story, Zlatan was indeed a failure at Barca, Villa is certainly not.

He's a complete nobody now though. I didn't even remember that he plays for them until I saw this thread and I was reminded, he's not one of the names that are repeated a lot.

Congrats David, welcome to one in a million.

22 goals and 13 assists in 44 games is hardly "failure"
Look at Berbatov's stats with United last season, he was the second top scorer of the EPL, yet you'd find that most United fans consider him a flop, plus Ferguson doesn't rate him. Stats don't tell the whole story, Zlatan at Barca like Berbatov in United was good at patches, but for the most part inconsistent and lazy. Go to a Barca forum and ask them, not many Barca fans are sorry to see him go.

But still Villa didn't impress much with Barca.
He may have not reached the heights they expected of him. But Villa is a striker and is being played on the left of a 3 man attack, for the position he's playing, he's scoring enough goals.

Just because Villa doesn't score as much as he did at Valencia, doesn't mean he isn't important to Barcelona. His arrival has allowed the system to develop to give Messi more freedom to score goals, and it showed last season as they replaced the value Eto'o had in the team.
