So many people wanted Mexes here before he signed for Milan, don't know why. He was on the bench for Roma.

so apart from ibra, pato (i consider both better players/higher potential), robinho
they got tevez
not really that much of an upgrade because their attack was allready fantastic
midfield and defence remains the same.
if we'd get ansaldi or hummels, we'd be getting alot more improvement in comparison

I agree with the first point, although that's how Milan operate, it's how Berlusconi does business firstly; get Hollywood names in the offensive positions, and then scrimp everywhere else. Just before they had veterans covering the other positions so well, now less so but they are still a good team and Thiago Silva in particular helped replace those outgoing.

Ranieri preferred Burdisso over Mexes, because Mexes was too stupid to play the organised, compact, high line that Roma were using at that time.
Can't remember what changed to get Mexes back in the team prior to his injury.
