[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]The fall-out from Riccardo Montolivo's contract saga with Fiorentina continues, as it has emerged the player has received death threats.

A Facebook fan page set up for the player, with as many as 70,000 followers, has seen several messages threatening the 26-year-old posted.

The police are said to have been notified but are said to not be considering it a serious situation, but are giving it 'raised attention'. La Digos - an investigative agency in Italy - have also denounced the threats.

The situation follows Fiorentina President Mario Cognigni and sporting director Pantaleo Corvino's words on how and why contract negotiations with the former captain broke down. They accused the player of misleading the club and purposefully holding out for a free transfer.

Viola CEO Sandro Mencucci branded the man thought responsible for posting the threats as an 'imbecile' in an interview with Radio Blu.

“The threats to Montolivo? I want to brand this behaviour as stupid. The threats were made a week ago by an imbecile.

“I want to close discourse regarding Montolivo. We have said what we had to say.”

Juventus' next 5 games will establish how good we really are this season.

1 - Milan (H) - can we dominate their retirement village midfield?
2 - Chievo (A) - Will someone at Juve finally stop our dinosaur nemesis Pellisier?
3 - Genoa (H) - Genoa seems quite strong this year
4 - Fiorentina (H) - we drew twice with them last season
5 - Merda (A) - can we add some more nails into their coffin in a season that's starting to come back to life for merda?

If we can't get at least 3 out of 5 wins and lose no more than 1, then we just may finally be in for a successful season!

If not, then 7th here we come :)
