What are your thoughts on Inter & Roma this year?
(looking for the "fred" in depth answer)
Inter: I think it was a huge mistake selling Eto'o who obviously was their best player and not replacing him adequately. Also a lot of their players are past it, their mercato should have focused on renewing the team, getting in more quality. Players like Lucio, Maicon, Milito and even Samuel aren't as good as they used to be a couple of years ago. Also, Gasperini doesn't seem to be up to the task, and him insisting on his 3 man defense system just makes things worse. His worst decision though, is taking the team's best player and playing him out of position, playing him too deep (Sneider). I don't think they have a chance for the league, and i'm pretty sure they'll be eliminated from the second round tops in the CL
Roma: Obviously they haven't had a good start by any stretch of imagination. I like some of their signings though, especially Pjanic whom i rate highly. I think their project is one for the future. Enrique has brought in half a dozen new players, he's trying to get them to play in a completely different way than they're used to. So it all depends on whether the players, fans and board believe in Enrique's project and if they're willing to be patient with it. It might not pay dividends this season, but it could be good for them in the long term if they persist with it.
In short, both teams are going through a transitional period it seems, and that is something Juve can take advantage of. It couldn't have come at a better time for you guys, seeing as you seem to be back on track, and theres only 3 CL spots left.
