Moratti expects Gasperini to change

Inter President Massimo Moratti has admitted that he expects boss Gian Piero Gasperini to revert to a 4-3-1-2 system.

The Nerazzurri have looked unconvincing using Gasp’s preferred 3-4-3 shape and a change looks to be on the cards for the Champions League tie against Trabzonspor tomorrow.

“It’s up to the Coach to decide whether now is the time to change, but I think that it might be,” Moratti stated on Tuesday.

"We'll see. I think there is a chance that our tactics will change, but we're talking about percentages, and they don't mean anything."

The pressure is on the new Coach to make some alterations after the 4-3 loss at Palermo on Sunday evening.

"We were all upset about it and I think none more so than the Coach,” the oil baron continued when asked about the Stadio Barbera reverse.

“I'm sure he will be the first person, and he won't need any pushing, to look for the necessary solutions – at least for the moment so that the team can feel confident again."

Gasperini opted to start the tie with Mauro Zarate before replacing him in the first half, while Giampaolo Pazzini didn’t even make an appearance.

“Zarate didn’t really play at all,” he added of the transfer deadline day signing from Lazio. “I mean, he went out there and it was all a bit chaotic. You don't judge a player on that.

“Pazzini? You can't pick 12 players in a team...

“These are choices, right choices, made by the Coach. Besides, Diego Milito started and scored two, so there's nothing I can say about that.

“Milito is a world-class player."
