He means he is not vital as a player in Milans history, he was more of a backup player who came later in his career, and was injured quite a bit of his time there.


But when it comes to coaches or scout etc, its not the same loyalty ties for them as it is for players, a job is a job (most top coachs have coached rival teams etc), and fans generally understand that. For example Ancelotti is a Romanista, Leonardo is Milanista, Capello is...? Milanista? Even if he played for and coached Juve, Roma etc. Usually its not much of a factor, a job is a job for coaches. It has little to nothing to do with being a traitor or such silliness fans judge players on.

Though it makes it extra funny in this case, because Leonardo isnt an experienced coach, his first coaching job was Milan and his second is Inter? Its bit more odd case.
