Palermo noticed Iličić and Bačinovič few days/weeks before the match. Actually they saw them when Maribor played against Videoton and Hibernian (opponents before Palermo). Beside Palermo, there were few more clubs interested in Iličić, including Milan, but after the first match Palermo made the right offer and Maribor accepted. It was done deal before the 2nd match but it was offical after. ;)

So if it wasn't Palermo it would be some other club.
Yeah, but Palermo probably wouldn't have watched those other Maribor matches if they haven't gotten Maribor as their opponents. My point was, though, that Juve would have probably missed out on Ilicic even if we got Maribor and watched the kid play against us.
-----------

Btw, here's an interesting statistic. Perhaps the Palermo boys should have been higher in order these stats to give a fair picture about the best attacking players in the league so far.
Goals+assists in the opening 14 rounds:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic 12 (7+5)
2. Samuel Eto'o 11 (9+2)
3. Edinson Cavani 11 (9+2)
4. Stefano Mauri 10 (3+7)
5. Ezequel Lavezzi 10 (4+6)
6. Andrea Cossu 9 (0+9)
7. Milos Krasic 9 (4+5)
8. Marek Hamsik 9 (6+3)
9. Marco Di Vaio 9 (7+2)
10. Antonio Di Natale 9 (8+1)
11. Sergio Pellissier 8 (5+3)
12. Javier Pastore 8 (7+1)
13. Alessandro Matri 8 (8+0)
14. Fabio Quagliarella 7 (6+1)
15. Josip Ilicic 7 (6+1)
16. Hernanes 6 (3+3)
17. Antonio Cassano 6 (4+2)
18. Andrea Caracciolo 6 (5+1)
19. Alberto Gilardino 6 (5+1)
20. Pato 6 (6+0)

Milos would have been probably placed higher if he didn't miss those 4 matches due to the ban and the injury.

Lots to prove before we can call it good scouting. We get 1-2 boys for the primavera from abroad every year. Ekdal and that Spanish kid from Barca were brought in the last years. Sorensen is no different from them so far, with the exception of the fact that due to some circumstances he got a chance to play for the 1st team and did good in those 2-3 matches. Too little to call it good scouting of a player who will be part of the Juve team in the future.

Hopefully in a year or two we can call that an excellent piece of scouting.

Oh please!

Class is class - no matter what team you play for

Giovinco is class-less

Everyone get off the Giovinco bandwagon and wake up and smell the roses - This guy is a DUD!
Palermo isn't exactly Parma :shifty:
Pastore isn't class yet, neither is ilicic or giovinco. That takes time, all three have talent though

Pastors is class, this question is void as much as it is stupid.
Explain the stupidity of the question? Pastore hasn't proved much, also I'm waiting for him to really have an effect on the national team and hopefully complete a transfer to a big club and succeed. Xavi is class, Messi is class, Oezil is class, Del Piero is class, Ronaldo is class, Robben is class, what do all these people have in common?

Can any of you read? I simply stated they both have talent. That doesn't mean they are on the same level, as a matter of fact I agree with the general consensus that Pastore is one-hundred times better than Gio.

It's moronic that I have to explain why, I'm not going to because quite frankly it's a waste of time and I think 99% of the forum and the footballing world will agree with me.
