Didn't Chivu go all bananaz against Roma on Benitez cuz Etoo wasn't helping him out defensively and Menez was toying with him?

EDIT: Found it!

Nice.

How many were at the Roma game? 40,000 or so?
I would have guessed the crowd at nearer 50,000, but it would just be a guess.

I heard Roma fans make incredible atmosphere when playing home.
They were good.

It's sort of hard to compare because I was in the heart of the curva for the Lazio and Juve games, but was further to the side, so a bit further away from the noise and energy of the curva, for the Roma game.

lol I saw Sneijder going crazy every time Eto'o took a shot. But the guy is a striker and he's scoring, I don't know what they want from him.

Last year he played way out of position and sacrificed for the team to win CL, this year, it's his turn. That's what he's probably thinking at least.

I did a similar trip to yours, but I watched Juve-sampdoria Milan-Auxerre Lazio-Milan.
During Lazio game i was in the Curva Sud, and Curva Nord look really amazing you must have had a great time.

Sacchi plans to revitalise academies
Tuesday 28 September, 2010

Arrigo Sacchi has ambitious plans to revitalise Italy's academy system in an effort to produce more quality players.

The FIGC recently appointed him to oversee an improvement in the standard of the game on the peninsula.

Speaking at Coverciano, Sacchi said: “My Milan had five or six great players who came through the youth sector.

“We must get back to those days. Platini's laws - with financial fair-play - oblige clubs to create champions in house at zero cost.

“The jump from the Primavera to the first team is too great. Our youngsters grow old in the youth sectors and are sent out on loan to clubs in the Lega Pro where they rarely manage to find space.”

Sacchi proposes the creation of reserve teams, which should be registered either in the Lega Pro or the Inter-regional championships.

“It's a project that marries itself to the foreseen rebuilding of the leagues in Italy. It should become operational in the space of two years.

“We have already spoken with various Presidents,” he concluded.

Good stuff from Sacchi.

Some people are starting to make the right noises, so hopefully things will gradually start to change for the better.

I don't get that though, is it really good for talents to play in division 5? Is it really good for a 18 year old to play against players on that level? The step from Lega Pro to Serie A is too big.

Lega Pro is division 3/4. The way I read it the idea is to have 17/18 year olds in at that level, so that in a year or so they are more prepared to play at the top level both physically and tactically. It's very similar to how they do it in Spain. The gap between 2/3 in Italy is not as big as 1/2.

It's getting the experience of playing games against men, rather than other 18/19 year olds.

It's the physical step up from playing Primavera to Serie A that, I believe, is the big thing.
