I think so too, although I think it might just be an early season thing.

Had that into consideration too when I asked the question. Of course, you could be right, but I know that I didn't ask the same question in the previous years.
I kinda like what I saw so I would like the Italian teams to keep this tempo. The Serie A teams are in general technically gifted so a high paced tempo combined with good technique can give real joy even to the neutrals.

Yeah I have to agree with you Alen, all 3 of the games I saw this round (Brescia - Palermo, Juve - Doria and Napoli - Bari) were all great games played at unusually high tempo for Serie A standards. I really enjoyed what I saw.

Perhaps this league is indeed on its way back up again quality wise? I hope so.

actually i don't thonk it is a sudden upturn in the quality of serie A that has made it more interesting,in fact i think it is the opposite,it is the lowering of the quality that has led to this. the top teams in serie A are nowhere near the quality they once were,the bottom teams know this now and know that they are beatable. there is now less between the bottom-midtable teams and less between the midtable-top teams,i expect more shock results this season,it could be the most interesting campaign in years

Chelsea are becoming very boring. They'll score an early goal and then the game is completely dead. All the other team can hope for is that Chelsea are satisfied with just three or four goals.

Do you guys think that the level of football played in the opening serie A rounds is higher than what we're used to?
I'm talking mostly about the rhythm of the games which is faster than ever. Or is it just my (wrong) impression?

Keep an eye on referees.

I noticed so far that referees (in every game) are making much less calls for fouls and their making the game flow. Unlike previous years when referees were giving fouls for every single touch (which was killing the rhythm).

Plus i agree with what The Boz just said about the lower teams are closing the gap with the top teams....
