R u guys good? Do you really think Sculli is coming to start or even be first off the bench.. this guy is insurance for if Milito, Eto'o, Pandev, (new striker), gets hurt..

Sculli is Kuyt typical of players that Benitez would love to have. He do lots of running and hard-working striker, also can play as a winger.. Might this the reason why Benitez wants him

I'd understand if they wanted Kuyt but not Sculli.

He's average at best in my books.
Doesn't really matter. Every team needs to have cheap average players who can do the job of resting the superstars when the team plays the likes of Cesena and be enough to beat Cesena.

Inter's squad has too many quality high earners. 17 players earned 3m eur a year or more and only 5 players earned less than 2m eur. That's a receipt for a future disaster. Generally, 12-13 very good/great players are enough and everything more than that will create problems both in the locker room and the financial books.
Granted, Inter won the treble, but look at every other team who wins the CL and you will see that apart from the expensive stars, 40% of the squad is consisted of players like Zalayeta or Birindelli, who don't earn much, who don't posses individual quality but can come handy in the group.

Inter are probably trying to do that. Instead of Mancini or Quaresma who earn 3.5m or more, they'd rather have a Sculli on the bench who will be a 4th or 5th choice behind Milito, Eto'o, Pandev and maybe Obinna and who can play in midfield too.
If they bought Kuyt instead of Sculli they would have only created problems because he'd have taken the place of a superstar or be wasted on the bench while earning some 4m eur a year.

Aye.

Big clubs will probably do a few deals like this over the coming years so as to avoid being hit by the new financial rules for getting into the CL.

And he's Italian as well. Some of you might laugh but having only Santon in the whole squad with Balotelli out, is probably not good for their image in Italy. Nor is it in line with possible future UEFA-regulations.

yup, Sicilian. Born and grew up in the Netherlands tho'

I'm not being racist or anything, I would welcome Ballo to the NT. I think he's a douche and deserves no respect, but the kid is a good player. But generally the Italian NT and its supporters arw patriotic. It's clear that when the anthem comes people go wild, and scream, and feel proud and shit. But when the common shared opinion in Italy when it comes to Ballo or most blacks is ''a Negro can't be Italian'' than I see no reason to play him if it would cause some sort of commotion. That's just my two cents of this whole thing. It's sad, but that's the current situation imo. Was even down in Palermo on holiday and talked to some people over there and no one wants to have Ballo wearing the Italian jersey.
Then he should definitely play...

Going from 2 to 1 isn't really going to make a huge difference in their image.

They could sign 2 players to replace Balotelli and they still would be a squad of foreigners.
