    Bad for us.

All the guys who are interested are very rich. I doubt they'll be like City but we should expect them to splash at least 30mln every year and not 3mln like they did so far. So yeah, it would be bad for us probably.

Bad for us as it's bad for all the top teams in the league. But good for the league itself as it makes it more competitive than the one horse race we've been watching for 5 seasons now.

It's not only there. They talk about it randomly everywhere. But I'll keep updating, I always get fresh news.

    --

Lega Calcio President Maurizio Beretta hopes the controversial new law limiting non-EU players could be postponed. “You can’t change rules during a transfer window.”

Last week the FIGC caused shockwaves when it announced that Serie A clubs would only be able to sign one new non-EU player per season rather than two.

“In the last meeting there was meant to be a generic discussion on the future, but the Federation wanted to force through this rule,” complained Beretta on Radio Uno.

“We do not share this ruling, especially in the way it was adopted. You can’t change rules during a transfer window with no warning, as this risks damaging the Serie A clubs.

“This also hurts the image and economy of Italian football. I hope the FIGC will reconsider, even if that is difficult.

“The only effect this law will have is robbing Serie A of seeing some more champions in its ranks. Competition is healthier than a lockdown.”

The Lega Calcio – a union of all the Serie A clubs – will hold a meeting on July 13 to discuss how they should react to this sudden change.

It was prompted by the failure at the World Cup and is meant to encourage clubs to bring through more homegrown talent.

“You can choose to have a more experienced or younger side,” continued Beretta. “Our Nazionale chose an approach that did not bring rewards.

“I don’t think it’s fair to say that there is a dearth in talent. Where they are found, like Mario Balotelli, the young talent is given the chance to emerge. There has to be a balance.”
