Yo Alen, The non EU rule works for every devision in the Italian league right? So we can actually buy a non Eu player from outside the league, as in while co-owning him with a Serie B team just for us to get his full rights the season after or simply selling our half.

Does this mean we can bring both Dzeko and Krasic? I know it's far fetched but I am talking technicalities now.
Nope.

The new rule, apparently, says that you can buy only 1 non-EU player in the course of the season and in order to do that you must get rid of one of the non-EU players in the squad.

So in no way we can buy both Krasic and Dzeko. We can buy only 1 of them and in order to do it we have to get rid of one of the non-EUs. We already got rid of one by not keeping Caceres.

Only serie A and serie B. So yeah, what you propose can work out. But we will need to find a serie B club willing to "waste" their non-EU spot to accomodate that player of ours.

For example, we buy X and Y. Both non-EUs. We register one of them and we loan the other one to Siena, who register him for the season. Then when we get him from Siena he's not a non-EU anymore.

Already done by Moggi in the past when he loaned Mutu to Livorno and got him back as a non-EU later.

What a joke this FIGC are

Now Serie B will become a transfer stage for almost every Serie A club by co-owning a player to play for half a season in Serie B just for them to settle the dual ownership in the winter transfer window while the number of foreigners stays the same. It's not only an idiotic rule but a useless one as well.

That's the thing, if you narrow down the selection then clubs will only buy quality, because they can't waste the allocation.

Look at Catania's squad:

So many cheaper South Americans because that is all they can afford, but some aren't even very good.
Catania prepare Argentine trio

Catania are ready to bolster their squad with three new signings over the next few days – Jose Sosa, Milton Caraglio and Mario Paglialunga.

The Sicilians are reportedly on the verge of completing their transfer for Argentine midfielder ‘El Principito’ Sosa.

There is competition from Parma, but Catania appear to have a deal for the Bayern Munich man.

Rosario’s 21-year-old striker Caraglio is also thought to be on his way to Sicily next season.

His club teammate Paglialunga is also 21 and plays as a defender, but can also be used further up into midfield.

In the outbox for Catania, midfielder Marco Biagianti is in negotiations with Palermo.

Serie B side Reggina are tracking both Fabio Sciacca and Giuseppe Bellusci.

Just what they were missing :D

Who else can we get rid of so that we get two non-EU players?

You don't need to get rid of non EU players to get those as the ones we already have aren't considered non EU anymore. And the players you're getting from other Italian teams aren't considered non EU from the first place. Not according to FIGC anyway.

Your question was a wrong one. Players aren't considered non EU if they play in the Italian league (the same league as you've put it).

My question is not wrong because I did not know that non-EU players playing in the league are no longer considered non-EU.

“Ranocchia is a real Inter-style defender and we have opened talks with Genoa.”
So Inter are going to sign Ranocchia, sad cause I actually liked the kid but now i just hope he'd get constantly injured and never play much for them....

hate to say this but with the current squad the best we can do is finish runner up to inter again...
they are just too strong and actively looking for transfers...while juve think 10 times before adding another 1.5 mil to their 15 for krasic

Or, i am wrong.

The rule is not, in itself, a big deal.

Teams, however, have every right to be very unhappy about the manner in which it has been brought in.

To not give any sort of notice period is completely unreasonable.
