Just that it's not the case because buying from a club from the same league always adds some millions to the price. And for some reason when the English clubs buy an English player or the Italians buy an Italian player, he is always overrated.

Stupid decision and as many already mentioned, it won't help at all. It just screws up some teams this summer.
Croatia and Serbia will soon be in the EU while the South Americans will keep getting Italian, Spanish or Portuguese passports. The teams will keep going after quality and the number of foreigners will be reduced by 5% at most.
I disagree, I believe that if this stands the average age of the purchased player will drop dramatically, which is good in this retirement community of a league.

Further to this, as you mentioned about the overrated part, at least that could bring about a situation where we don't buy X because Y in the reserves/primavera is just as good.

I agree, some people seem to forget that we still have access to German,French,Spanish,Romanian,Dutch etc. etc. players. You show me a team that can't build a title winning side over 5 years only buying one non-EU and the rest EU and I will show you a bunch of retards or Inter.

Zlatan: I always wanted to sign and play for Rodriguez. Even before signing for Malmo when I was a kid I was dreaming of Rodriguez. With this club I can win everything.

doesn't the rule only affect signing of players? not the players already in your squad?

It does affect players already in the squad as in if you sign a non EU player while you already have one of those in your team, the one you already have must be shown the door.

Are you sure? That makes absolutely no sense.

So if we buy Krasic this year then we can't buy Dzeko, Aguero or Robinho until Krasic leaves? I don't think this is the case. Could you be wrong?

It only applies throughout the season, Alen. As in if we buy Krasic this season then sign Dzeko the next one, it's all clear. While if we're looking to sign any non Eu player during the same season we sign Krasic, or any non EU for that matter, then we simply can't.

I should have explained that one better.

EDIT: Nah I was right :D Check this out:

Each season they can now only bring in one new face and he must replace another non-EU player in the squad, a reduction from the original two.

Aha.
In the long run this will be a huge problem.

Right now teams have non-EU players left in the squads so they can be replaced. But in some 5 years or so, when the number of the non-EU's will be much smaller, it will be hard to buy a non-EU if the condition is to sell a non-EU too.

These rules are really strict and they will lower the interest in the South American market. This will especially go bad with the mid-table teams who buy cheap in South America. Teams like Udinese, Palermo, Lazio etc.
