Maybe I overrate Roma's future summer plans, but you also overrate Juve's, Nick. I honestly don't have high hopes at all because not a single thing points at a positive summer at this very moment. We have some decent squad but don't forget that we're yet to buy Quag and Aquilani. If we do, it's going to be a massive budget cut for us with or without CL spot. That's going to hurt and we're yet to cover many positions. I guess we also count -6mln for Piazon so it's even less. CL spot will help us get more money, true, but then again I can't see us spending much. We had higher plans previous season but we did terrible and didn't spend much at all. We only sold Diego for peanuts. What makes you think positive? The purchase of Toni and Barzagli? Two transfer that don't make much sense, now when we're in call it crisis?

Roma can't do any worse, even with Americans. Simply because their budget over the past 6-7 seasons was/is like 3mln a year.

With the return of Romy Gai in the Summer also will see ourselves getting some great sponsorship deals also.
If we didn't hear about them spending it doesn't mean they don't exist. It's a consortium, not one person. 5 businessman they say, they are all involved in buying Roma. I don't know yet but from their media plans it does sound pretty big. But yeah, Arabs will always spend more, but that still doesn't say anything.
This may sound odd or wrong.

I see Juventus becoming the Arsenal of Italy - the pretty football. I think our future stratergy will revolve around buying younger talents and making them stars. I dunno maybe I'm being deluded or daft but I see a bright future for us. Maybe not in 1-2 seasons but I think in the long run we'll be better off than all the other Serie A clubs and we'll be in the top 5 revenue wise in the World again.

I still stand by Sabatini( We need him ) being brought in and I think we'll have a very talented squad in a few years.

It's clear we can't keep up with the Milan clubs for spending but if we scout the youth market we'll do great. Piazon is the first step.

I'd also like to see Spalletti as our manager next season but it won't happen. He'll do wonders here.

The next few years will be trying at times but our final goal will be wonderful.

    Is that positive for you?

Being a club that buys wonderkids, sell them in a couple of years to buy unknown players and in the ends up without any trophy?

I'd love for Juve to play like Arsenal. I doubt that'll happen anytime soon though, we need a lot of new players and right now our style couldn't be any further from that.

I remember a previous board member (Cobolli?) saying that the model would be Arsenal, not really the way we would play on the pitch. He said 'champions and young players'. That'll take time and CL.

No way. Arsenal are a bunch of panzy-assed, faux French ballerinas. Send them and their pretty-boy metrosexual football to hell with all the Barca fanboys.

Oh, you mean kind of like the thread with Barcelona and the youth system? Yeah, that's a good step for the future.

Always been a sucker for ballerinas. But please don't insult them by comparing them to Barca fanboys, no one deserves that :p

    What critics though?
They bought Cassano, Emanuelson and van Bommel and they're apparently in the run for signing a fullback (Criscito). That's more than decent winter mercato.
Maybe the guy invented the quote. Somebody heard it on SKY. Maybe it's BS.

What doesn't make sense about Toni or Barzagli?

No strikers + no money - Toni
Legrottaglie leaving + no money - Barzagli
It doesn't make sense because they are not good enough! They were not even good enough for Genoa and Wolfsburg. They have no value and nothing to offer. Why mess up a rebuilding squad by signing those scrubs cuz its not like they're going to make us any better.

No money? Don't sign Toni. Wait for the other strikers to come back, change formation, anything. And honestly, the whole thing about us not having any strikers was not true. We had DP, Amauri was back, Martinez made it and now even Iaquinta is back just a few weeks after we signed Luca Toni.

And Barzagli, tbh I have nothing against him as long as he's a reserve. Its the whole Italian thing that bugs people off. Oh, and the lack of ambition that these signings bring to the table.

We will never play like Arsenal under Del Neri. We can only achieve things like they did in last couple of seasons.
