Football Italia, Team of the 1st half of the season

Goalkeeper: Abbiati
Defense: Juan, Thiago Silva, Chiellini, Ranocchia
Midfield: Krasic, Hamsik, Hernanes, Ilicic
Attack: Cavani, Ibrahimovic

http://www.football-italia.net/blogs/dt68.html

More or less these were the best goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and attackers, even if the author didn't want to make it more realistic by including some full backs and making the midfield more balanced.
I don't know if Ranocchia played so great this season.. I thought he is not that great looking at how crap Genoa defense become to

Abbiati, Juan and Ranocchia shouldn't be in there. Chiellini, Hamsik and Illicic are decent choices, but debatable. Agree with the rest, although Silva without Nesta isn't nearly the same player.

He played really well actually. Genoa's defence poor record so far has nothing to do with him.

Our defence was a shit-hole last season, does that make Chiellini a shit defender ?

Abbiati was amazing in serie A. Despite the occasionally excellent performances from Muslera and Curci, they both had mistakes that ended up with a goal. Abbiati brought at least 6-7 pts to Milan this year. He's the clear #1 in serie A so far, imo.

Ilicic is an attacker. He can hardly be considered a midfielder in Palermo's line-up. Don't look at the order of the names in my post. It was random. I could have put them like this: "Hernanes, Krasic, Ilicic, Hamsik." :)
Never seen him play. Basically an AM you say?

Been watching the two for some time now, and to be honest Ranocchia looked the far better defender. The good news is, Bonucci still learning and developing a bit by bit.
I agree, I like and think Bonucci is quite good, just that Ranocchia is obviously more talented, its so easy to see.

Where is Pastore?

Haven't got around to watching a lot of football this year, so i haven't seen enough of Palermo myself. But from the few times i watched them, he was quite impressive, quite a technical player for a guy his size.

You should have by now, not because of him alone, but Palermo has had some absolutely stunning games so far this season. The combo between him and Pastore has been amazing in several games.
